Iām really loving all those tgwdlm edits to A Musical from something rotten those are great.
My sister and I decided to do a co op campaign with sibling tavs (+ a hireling that is from another co op save with her tiefling back when they were an only child/I hadnāt made the sister yet)
If you havenāt heard, today PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome has been renamed to Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome. This change reflects that this is not a reproductive āproblemā but a whole body disease.
For reference, from the WHO website:
(Text: PCOS affects an estimated 10-13% of reproductive-aged women. It is estimated that up to 70% of women with PCOS worldwide do not know they have this condition.)
The Lancet link about shift to PMOS. Spread this to everyone who works in health care now. People with uteruses and ovaries are in agony - yes, the whole body suffers a crisis every fkn month - and health care should help
Don't forget to share with folks you know in general, including cis men (or men you believe to be cis). I have met at least one cisgender intersex man who had PMOS.
It definitely isnāt a big deal but Iām nostalgic for the old Hadestown YouTube performances I used to watch religiously and the comments that are like āambers Persephone is so wine aunt energy I love itā I am having beef with because I feel like that does not encompass the character well at all. Like idk not the words Iād use to describe her.
Autumn is almost here!
The Golden Age of Airbenders. I painted these images for the flashback scene in Avatar Aang, showing Sonam and Tagah in their heyday.

Sometimes you just need to listen to the same song for an entire afternoonĀ
its unreal how all of my favorite characters have exactly the same traits and hobbies and diagnoses as me
oh, have you been tricked into loving yourself?
oh my fucking god is that what just happened
The first time I watched Knives Out, I was in nursing school & wondered what Iād think about it when I was a nurse. Now Iām five years into my nursing career, plus with plenty of time in the home health speciality like Marta, and watched the movie again a few nights ago. My overall feelings about the nursing are actually about the same: I could quibble about details but overall the vibe feels right. She feels emotionally authentic. She feels like a nurse. She should have maybe done a respiratory assessment. But also that old man was absolutely so hyped to concoct a mystery. Absolutely jazzed to slit his own throat. Not a good partner in his own care. Patient who definitely wouldnāt use the call light appropriately.
And god can you imagine dealing with his family
You know that hospitalist note starts with something painfully diplomatic that just screams you will be walking into a war zone. āHarlan is an energetic and pleasant 85 year old gentleman with very engaged family support network actively involved in careā
Iām restarting my campaign with my duegar spores Druid because I didnāt really have her character figured out in my head until mid act 2.
I love how much it looks like this head is just kinda glowering up at everyone.
I havenāt taken enough screenshots of the duegar dialogue options but I do love how itās just mostly grouch lines. Iām not even playing her as someone who is the most duegar duegar (you can tell by the flowers in her hair that sheās not quite as miserable) but my backstory is that she was raised by myconids and she has 8 charisma so her being rude and off putting is still funny and fits.
Also this is still my favourite duegar specific dialogue āRun little mushrooms!! š§ā
Oh damn I really pick and choose the Black Friday songs Iāve kept in the rotation over the years I straight up didnāt know what monsters and men was when listening to the album just now
Back in my days of being an evangelical worship leader I was basically a bard if you think about it
This one started as a drawing in my sketchbook, and then she blossomed into a digital painting šø Still on my lifelong quest to paint the roundest, chunkiest, most squishable roses.
It makes me feel like an asshole but it drives me nuts just a little bit when people act like thereās no reason to learn fundamentals/learn and improve your art in general if youāre only doing it as a hobby.
Like āoh i do art for fun so I donāt care about learning how to get betterā I genuinely canāt think of another hobby like this.
Like music? You kinda gotta learn the basics of guitar to be able to play it. Maybe you never learn sheet music but you have to learn SOME kind of technique to play guitar so it actually sounds like, you know music.
āI like cooking for fun so I donāt care if I get better at it I have no desire to learn moreā With cooking if you actually like, care youāve gotta at least learn the basic rules of cooking. And maybe you learn enough to cook a good pasta dish, and maybe you also learn enough so you can build your own recipes/cook without recipes for most basic things but youāre satisfied there. You donāt feel the need to learn how to make pasta from scratch. Thatās okay!! And isnāt part of the joy of cooking making something that tastes good? And isnāt it nice when you cook something successfully that you struggled with in the past because youāve learned?
So like with art, itās okay if you donāt want to work as hard to get to a professional level with youāre art but i dislike the anti learning attitude people seem to have with it. Like, you like this thing!!! Why donāt you want to learn?? Learning is good!!
It wouldnāt bother me as much if that attitude didnāt then also bleed into people being like āyeah I do art for fun so Iām not going to learn how to draw fat people or dark skin or non Eurocentric featuresā like why is that suddenly something that makes art not fun for you?
Youāre free to draw whatever you want I guess but itās objectively weird to stand on a hill and go āand I will NOT learn to draw black people because I do art for FUNā Thatās weird. Not drawing fat people is one thing but proclaiming from the rooftops that you are taking a stand and WONT do it is weird. And people applaud it because āart has no rules!! You do you donāt let anyone tell you to draw what you donāt want to šā
I think some of it is that a lot of the people I see with this attitude are young kids posting art to tik tok or etc. and the thing about posting art to places like that especially as a beginner is youāre gonna get a SWATH of unsolicited advice. And thatās not good either.
Like youāre a tik tok commenter not this 14 year olds art mentor. So I think thatās part of where this attitude comes from, as a way to shut down unsolicited criticism. Still donāt like it.
One unfavourite thing of mine while lurking in bg3 spaces are people who get bullied for having giths with not gith noses and then turn around and act like theyāre the ones being revolutionary and ceiling breaking for some reason and āoh justice for the girls who just want to be pretty tavs!ā (You can make a lore accurate gith pretty)
At the same time I do find it annoying when people harp on not lore accurate tavs especially since for so many people like, they just donāt know? Like every newcomer is approached in bad faith.
