what is “lore”
1) Banescales also attach themselves to wildclaws because they’re bipedal like the banescales are so it’s natural to go ‘oh fam??’
2) Nocturnes frequently imitate banescales who are honestly also kind of imitating the modern cultures and now no one within a five mile radius around the clan is allowed to curse or else every other word you’re going to hear for the next year and a half is ‘fuck’.
3) Ridgeback and banescale lesbians- that’s all.
4) A real wholesome moment when a gaoler adopts a baby banescale and says, very softly to this new creature that has known no battle and no war ‘I’m sorry’
plague dragons will eat maggots and bathe in acid and have love affairs with ancient zombies but nature dragons are perfectly content with carpeted bathrooms so like, who’s the real monster here
I, for one, vote that Shadow dragons are the ones with shag carpeting in their bathrooms and kitchens.
I resent the implication that shadow dragons have bathrooms
When undocumented immigrants are detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), they are held in detention until they go to trial where the court will decide whether they can stay in the country. In some cases, the immigration judge will let them go while they await trial if they first pay a bail bond. Bail is set at a legal minimum of $1,500, but can be much higher. The bond is meant as a deposit to ensure the accused will report to their trial. If they attend all of their court appointments, they can get the money back. But many people have trouble coming up with the funds. The average bail bond issued by the San Francisco immigration courts in 2014 was $3,411 and the average cost of bond in immigration courts nationally is $6,500. Bond amounts could be as high as $80,500 on Central District of California immigration bonds, according to a 2015 study by USC law professor Emily Ryo. Donating to community bond funds can immediately “lead to freedom,” she said. Community bond funds are charities, like RAICES, that use funds to post bail and provide legal defense for detained people. This is one of the fastest ways to reunite immigrants with their family, said Pilar Weiss, project director at the National Bail Fund Network.

Anti-villain motivations besides "tragic past"
They do bad things because they’re scared.
They’re gullible or misinformed. Example: somebody who has been told the heroes are out to hurt them.
They are desperate for interaction, validation, kindness, or attention, and the dark side gives them those things.
They want to change their allegiance, but are pressured by people close to them to stay evil.
They have an otherwise noble goal that they will do literally anything to achieve. Example: somebody who wants to protect their child, even if it means throwing other children into danger.
yknow WHAT i dont follow enough flight rising blogs so if youre a flight rising blog reblog this n i might give you a follow! (follows will come from crono-corvid)
consider: a clan of guardians who all, somehow, ended up with the same charge
I imagine there are artifacts, objects or individuals that are so rare, powerful, or otherwise significant that many Guardians feel the pull to them. Imagine being someone with like 38 Guardians protecting you?
oK BUT what about 38 guardians protecting someone or something not particularly important
First off this is amazing. Secondly, hi. This happens in my lore and my dragons have a word for it. Any number of guardians, usually over five, with the same charge are called a Palasade. Usually the term is used for those protecting things like political figures, entire clans, cities, and holy sites. Things like that.
it’s back
I do love the idea that there are 12 guardians obsessed with the guarding of Terry from accounting. Imagine if guardians instinctively do not guard narcissists or dragons who think they deserve to be guarded. The instinct goes for the things that cant defend themselves of are not good at it, (rocks, buildings, Terry from accounting)
if st valentine is the patron of love and the plague does that mean that plaguebringer is also the sornieth deity of romance?
somebody draw cupid plague sprite quick
Seen the meme going around for a bit and don’t want to feel left out:
If you could pick one dragon from my lair to steal, who would it be? [Lair Link]
I would totally take Aurono, his colors are very nice and even if he is a entitled dragon at least he learns from his mistakes.
1.) Id take Cressida her coloring is fantastic and I love fae
2.) Dude feed your kids
Hey flight rising players of you don't exalt hmu I wanna add more friends
Hot take but I’m more excited for the ancient breeds to come out than I am for modern breeds….
I just want multiple heads. Is that too much to ask!?
Big mood, I want a hydra
I go visit Galore, even though he has nothing to offer me at this current time. I just… I don’t know why I like him so much. Why did FR have to make him look so warm, so inviting, so friendly. There’s this really comforting air about him. It makes me want to sit on that pile of gold of his and braid his beard while I tell him about the shitty day I had at work. What the fuck.
I love the whole concept of dragons wearing hoods
Because it’s so amazingly stupid and impractical with their huge long necks. So much fabric. So much instability. How do you move with it on like that without entirely defeating the purpose or it just falling off of your head.
Nothing’s keeping the middle section in place so your neck could go one way and your hood go the other and wh
why
This horrible monument to hubris in the form of a dragon looking at other species with hooded clothing and being like hey we can do that too I bet and its just infinitely amusing to imagine the logistics of it.
Nurtle and Turtle came to my lair at the same time and became fast friends, I named them for a pair of snapping turtles my sibling had when they were five.
Nurtle was recently given a slight eyewing to match his ceremonial garb and Turtle has had a bamboo phytocat since I first saw her coloring, we call the cat Sprouts, the bird has yet to be named
Nurtle takes care of celebrations in the lair and leads gathering parties during festivals and reveleries. Turtle likes to adventure in colder climates with her travel partner Broadway to see what new and interesting things can be located in the snow and frost.
The two of them enjoy gathering stories from their travels to pass along to the lairs hatchlings while they grow.
This is Tank and his pocketmouse Squeak who lives in his scarf.
Tank is what I consider to be the leader of my lair he was one of my first dragons in my old lair (a gift from a friend when I started out) so I moved him to our new home when I got a new account.
Tank has four beautiful children, one of which was, unfortunately, exalted a few weeks ago after I mistakenly auctioned him instead of sending him home (I was, very tired at the time) I'm still working on lore for him and won't be posting any to his information section until I've worked out all the little details.
A reworking of the FR Anthro Height Chart, this time with multiple versions
Canon Sizes were determined using average dragon sizes from the FR Dragon Census as well as @olessan-lokenosse‘s Bogsneak and Gaoler Censuses all of which I’ll link in the notes here. The average lengths from these were put through a small reduction to get things into a more reasonable range and then converted to heights using the assumption that the middle breeds (mirror and wildclaw) would stand at roughly five and a half feet, and that the difference from one breed to the next would stay the same.
Headcanon sizes represent a few revisions I’ve made to better reflect how I personally see things. This is what I use for my lore and writing and is a bit less extreme.
Both of these have both height order and flight order versions which should be self explanatory. Also, seeing as tumblr is awful with wide images, I’ll probably be linking full res versions in the notes some time later, so keep your eyes open for that.

Reblogging again because I made a version with no reduction factor. This is using the raw data from the dragon census and the differences just get all the more ridiculous. Again assuming a mirror is around 5′6 (168 cm), fae come in around 11″ (28 cm) tall while Imps come in just shy of 24′ (287 cm)
I thought ridgebacks were small, my life is a lie
No dragons were harmed during this experiment.
