@iamlying-infected
a soft life led by God.
โThe love of my life wouldnโt do thatโ is such a powerful perspective to maintain
People are way too obsessed with thinking everything needs to be hard or a struggle. But when it comes time to doing the hard thing, they don't want to follow through
I was on a walk with someone recently, and we had agreed on a step goal before we started. Near the end they said, โItโs only a few more steps. The circle in the app is almost close letโs stopโ
I replied โNope, we finish those few steps until itโs closedโ
Thatโs what discipline actually looks like
We confused difficulty with progress. We romanticize the grind & wear burnout like a badge of honor. We assume that if something feels easy, it must not be worthwhile. You wonโt rewire your mindset, which in turn will give you different results by chasing harder. You do it by thinking differently, showing up consistently, and keeping the small promises you make to yourself
The hard part isnโt working 18 hr days (though yes, exhausting for sure!). The hard part is finishing what you said you were going to do, especially when itโs easier to stop. Itโs being consistent when no one is watching. Itโs doing the boring work over and over again. Itโs staying disciplined when motivation disappears. Itโs having uncomfortable conversations, admitting youโre wrong, starting before you feel ready, and continuing long after the excitement wears off. The hard part is the battle with yourself
Discipline isnโt built through huge acts of willpower. Itโs built in small moments where no one would blame you for quitting, but you choose to follow through anyway
People donโt actually want hard. They want the idea of hard because it sounds impressive. But real growth is usually quiet, repetitive and almost too simple to notice. The people who get the results arenโt the ones chasing the hardest path. Theyโre the ones who keep showing up, finish the last few steps, and let those small promises compound over time. Complaining about how hard the thing is, isnโt impressive. Trying and doing is

fuuuuck i just realized that the future idealized version of myself cant exist without current me being the catalyst for change and doing hard things. has anybody heard about this
What isnโt right for you will always feel hard to hold onto. Youโll watch it slip through your fingers no matter how hard you try and your instinct may be to chase harder, prove yourself more, or become someone youโre not just to keep it. But sometimes what keeps leaving isnโt meant to stay. The things that are truly aligned with you wonโt require you to abandon yourself, betray your values, or break yourself just to hold onto them. Understand that this desire stems from something internal in YOU that youโre missing or desiring and the other person in this case is a personification of that. Itโs not about them! What is meant for you may still require effort, patience, and growth, but not self abandonment. Not self betrayal. If keeping something costs your peace, your identity, or your self respect, it isnโt the right fit. What is meant for you shouldnโt require you to lose yourself in order to keep it, ever!!
washing dishes is evil because you go "oh fuck there's so many dishes this is gonna take foreverrr" and then you enter the dish abyss and emerge with your abdomen somehow covered in water and your hands all wrinky and then you look at the clock and what felt like half an hour was actually 10 minutes
to be seen without performing. to be heard without screaming. to be missed without disappearing. to be enough without proving it. to be held without falling apart. to be understood without explaining. to be wanted without conditions. to be. to be.
