It was almost dawn by the time Mosias finished fabricating a new memory to give to Anti, and he was shaking like a leaf.
That is not to say that the memory would be terrifying, far from it in fact.
It started with Anti looking around Mosias office, and almostĀ breaking the Stone when Mosias caught himā¦.
Anti was wandering around the house when he noticed that Mosiasās study had been left unlocked today. He knew he should just keep walking, but Mosias had been working a lot in there, Anti just hadĀ to know what secret project his Guardian was working on this time.
After opening a few drawers, Anti found a small black box that was just barely larger than his palm. He curiously looked inside it and found a rather pretty gem inside.
The gem was mostly green, but faded to dark blues and browns in some areas, and was on a thin gold chain. Anti swung it around carefully, admiring the way the stone would glint when it caught the light, when suddenlyā¦
āWhat are you doing in here?!ā he heard Mosias shout, Anti jumped and let go of the chain.
The stone flew through the air, straight towards the far wall, Anti dove to catch it but he fell short.
Luckily, Mosias caught it before the stone met the wall.
āWhat are you doing in here, Anti?!ā Mosias demanded again, swiftly gliding closer to Anti.Ā
āI⦠Iām so sorry Mosias, Iā¦ā Anti bowed his head in shame, he knew he had no good reason to have gone in his Guardianās study. He went too far this time.
āGet. Out.ā Mosias seethed, glaring at Anti.
Anti obliged, and quickly ran out of the house to the woods. Shifting into his wolf form, Anti sought out an empty cave and huddled inside. Hours passed and it got really cold, but no matter how much Anti wantedĀ to go homeā¦
He was afraid that he wouldnāt be allowed to.
Eventually, he heard faint calls of his name, slowly growing closer until...
āAnti? Anti are you in here? Please come out, Iām so sorry for telling you to leave. I didnāt mean for you to leave the house, just my study... You are in here, arenāt you?ā
Anti buried his snout beneath his paws, seriously considering staying in the cave until Mosias left.
But it was cold, and it would only be getting colder.... Plus Mosias did sound pretty upset...
Anti stood up and shook some of the dirt from his fur before padding out of the cave and closer to Mosias. His Guardian looked down at him, not surprised in the least that Anti had come out on his own.
āThere you are, pup.ā Mosias murmured, stretching a smoky hand down to pet the beast.Ā āLetās go home now, alright?ā
And so they did, Mosias was doing his very best to make sure that the new memories were as close to the truth as possible, going offtrack would waste more energy than he could afford to lose right now.
After seating himself close to the fire to warm up, he looked up to see Mosias sitting across from him holding a small red pouch.
āIām sorry, again, for yelling at you, Anti.ā Mosias admitted quietly.Ā āI know you get curious sometimes about my projects, but this one was especially important and I didnāt want you to spoil it for yourself.ā
Anti scrunched up his face in confusion, what did his guardian mean by... spoiling it?
Mosias laughed when he saw Antiās face before tossing him the red pouch.
This time, Anti wasnāt saved from his clumsiness and dropped it as he tried to catch it. A small ring tumbled out of the opening and laid on the ground, the stone glinted in the fire light, was it...?
āThat stone you found?ā Mosias said, nodding at the ring that Anti had yet to pick up,Ā āIt was for a gift, forĀ you.Ā I spent a lot of time searching for that stone, itās one for channeling power. I put a bit of my own in it, you can use it to find me whenever you need to.ā
Anti quickly picked up the ring and slid it onto his finger, the green and blue stones glowed faintly at him.
āIt can do other things too,ā Mosias mused, eyeing Anti as he lifted his hand and pointed the ring at a nearby couch cushion. Almost immediately, said cushion burst into flames.
Mosias laughed as Anti jumped back,Ā āYouāll figure out how to use it properly in time, Iāll add it to your training. How about we get to bed now, okay? Itās been a long day for the both of us.ā
āThank you, Mosias. This ring is...... amazing, I hardly feel worthy enough to-ā
āDonāt even finish that sentence, pup. Youāre worth it to me, now letās go to bed, okay?ā
Anti grinned and followed Mosias upstairs, ducking into his room after thanking his guardian again.
Today had been a good day.
Mosias hissed as he dragged himself away from the memory he had just finished molding. Anti would wake up soon, he had to put the memory in quickly before he ran out of strength.
Speaking of.... How the heck would he explain to Anti exactly whyĀ he was so weak?
He could of course, lie and say that he just felt like being pocket-sized today. But if he had to do this again....
Mosias swayed as his vision started swimming, if he kept deliberating for much longer....
Well, there wouldnāt be much to deliberate anymore, would there?
Hurriedly, Mosias stuffed some more information into the memory. He didnāt have time to create an entire scene for it, hopefully Anti would accept it the vague details without question and be ready to help in the morning...
Mosias slumped completely onto the ground after he transferred the memory back to Anti, watching as the light faded away.
Mosias too, began to fade ever so slightly. He was smaller than he was when he Anti fell asleep, and now he was a few shades lighter than usual.
Hopefully, Anti would wake up soon.
