I don't know about you guys but I love getting fic recs from the fanbase. It saves me so much time, lets me figure out beforehand the vibes and sometimes the plot of the fic and this way, deducing if I'm going to like, love or hate a fic so much easier. Honestly I've found most of my gems thanks to fic recs. So I wanted to share my love for one with you.
Ènouement is one of my favorite fics of all time. And as I am rereading it right now, I felt like pouring my love for it into this little edit, to spread more attention to this masterpiece, bacause it deserves every bit of it and so much more. Well, in my very personal opinion at least. You'll probably love it as much as me if your favorite trope happens to be found family™️. Beware though that soukoku has a single interaction throughout the entire fic. Despite that, the author does an amazing job at not making a soukoku fan get affected by the lack of interaction, as even if Dazai is absent throughout most of the story, he is still playing a major part in it and their relationship still goes through a development.
The college AU gang back at it again - Halloween edition 🎃
College life is for the wild parties, and Dazai decided it should be even wilder so he proposed that they play secret santa with their costumes. Of course Sigma and Chuuya were against it but Fyodor decided it was worth to see their suffering so 3vs2 and before they knew it, they were mixing little strips of paper with their names on them in one of Chuuya's hats. To Dazai's absolute delight (and Sigma's absolute horror), he got to pick out Sigma's costume. "Then you shall beee... Little Bo Peep!" - the single sentence that is going to haunt Sigma forever. Then theres Dazai's Snow White, thoughtfully picked out by Fyodor. Fyodor himself didn't expect Chuuya to pick out a Sexy Nun for him but it didn't take a genius to figure Nikolai had roped him into it, probably with a quite extravagant bottle of wine. Then Chuuya's name was pulled by Nikolai himself and he decided Dazai needs a Knight in shining armor but with a Chappell Roan twist to it for maximum drip. All the pieces so far compiled for my fake Storm Bringer OP, it's... like maybe a lil over half done in terms of just the storyboard/animatic... hope you are enjoying seeing the process!
There is this evergoing debate about Soukoku. Some love them, some hate them, some say they're toxic, some will fight them to death for ever using that term.
I think Soukoku is so much more than one thing.
They push eachother, yet they pull eachother.
They bring eachother high, just to drop eachother on the ground.
They make eachother feel like monsters before making eachother feel human.
They mirror eachother, and they despise the parts of themselves they see in the reflection.
They can't stand eachother, yet they envy eachother.
They hate eachother, they love eachother.
They avoid eachother like the plague, yet they need eachother like air.
They want to kill eachother, yet they save eachother every time.
Friends, partners, enemies, rivals, all of theese terms can describe them, yet none of them can fully grasp the bound they share.
They are so much more complex than 'love' 'hate' 'romantic' 'platonic' 'toxic'.
They are soulmates, definatly, yet it's not like they're meant to be together, not in the way simple romantic partners are meant to be at least.
Cause nothing about them has ever been simple.
"That's what makes me love you." "I believed in your disgusting vitality and craftiness." "There's no way I can hate a man made character string so much." "That dimwit Dazai is inside there. No doubt about it."
Soukoku is much more than any of the terms we can describe them with.
So much deeper, so much more complex.
And that's exactly why I find them so fascinating.
That's why I don't care if they end up together or not.
I know that whatever happens in the story, when one of them goes out, the other will never be whole again.
They may not cry, they may not even flinch, but I know that they will be the lonliest creature on earth.

Apparently watching too many 90's highschool romcoms can lead to an entire AU spawning in your head.
For context, this is an AU where most characters are with opposite genders, as you can see, Yosano is one of the characters that I didn't genderbend. My reasoning is simple really, I just wanted her to be part of my
✨️ girl trio ✨️.
Chuuya, Sigma and Yosano, you can think of them as The Plastics but a kind and loving version that are actually best friends for real. Don't mess with them tho, they will not hesitate to put anyone in their place 😉.
They are all highschool students that come from crazy rich families, living that old money Beverly Hills life (I wonder wich movie this came from 😏). Same goes with almost every character in this AU, the reason why the story takes place in an elite highschool.
You can think of this AU as a manifestation of my love for franchises like Clueless, Mean Girls, Freaky Friday and all sorts of other girly movies.
As for what is going on in here, Chuuya, Yosano, Sigma, Dazai and Ranpo have run away from home in Chuuya's wine red vintage car. Chuuya's parents sent her older brother after them. When Koyou found them and expressed how worried their families are, Yosano who was the one to initiate this entire thing in the first place seems to have changed her perspective all of a sudden. Hmm I wonder if this has anything to do with Koyou 🤔...
For as much of a violence angst dead dove enjoyer i am, What BEAST!Mori says about education and treatment of children at the end of BEAST to atsushi does make me believe that all of the headcanons of him being physically abusive are unfounded (for as much as I love reading them). At the end of the day, he's never textually shown to use fear or violence to rule over the mafia, let alone Dazai or Chuya. That's what makes him better than the previous boss - it's the entire point. And arguably, it's what makes him more terrifying. Everything is not manipulative or exploitative as much as it is indeed just rational. It's not good, but rational. What chuya does at the end of fifteen, choosing to follow Mori, it's because he showed that rationally it's the best choice.
The only irrational choice ever made its Dazai leaving the mafia. That is an emotional choice. And that's what sets the plot in motion.
That is to say, in my humble opinion, BEAST!Mori is not someone else, the core value remain those of Mori, the circumstances change.
The 291K words of unfinished gut wrenching beautiful gay literature saga continues. I'm on chapter 18 now and let me tell you, I'm not a Mori hater, I've never been, but no other fanfic has made me hate Mori this much! I can already see how this is all going to end up in a huge cliffhanger and I will never get to know how this geniusly written story ends. In case you have any tooth rotting fluff suggestions, you are more than welcome to leave them below. I'm gonna need therapy after this.

Say what you want but nothing compares to the pain of getting obsessed with a 291K words fanfic, to the point where it's the only thing you can think about and you create fake scenarios in your head about it when listening to music. You're eating up each of the long as hell chapters, unabel to stop yourself from tapping 'next chapter' after 'next chapter'. Okay, so I know we’re all hoping Adam pops up (I really kinda want more international involvement with the plot since Fukuchi and the DOA made this all a global problem), but what if Shirase were to come pick up Dazai and Chuuya?
(Because unfortunately Adam seemed busy to Chuuya so he asked Shirase for a favor instead.)
*Helicopter arrives*
Dazai: Good! We need to get back to Yokohama righ— *freezes with one foot in the helicopter*
Chuuya: *right behind him carrying Sigma* Oi! What’s the hold-up?
Shirase: Hey, Chuuya! Looks like I’m saving the day once again!
I have a silly little headcanon that if Chuuya was a part of the ADA, him Yosano Dazai and Ranpo would be the ultimate gossip girls of the agency. They would round up on the break room tabel spilling the hottest tea of the day.
+ Yosano and Chuuya feed off of each others moods so when Chuuya shows up to work pissed Yosano picks up on his behavior quickly. They end up roasting the living shit out of everyone and Ranpo simply sits back and enjoys the show with a pack of potato chips. Dazai is the biggest victim of it all because Chuuya.
+ Yosano having a secret wine stash at the infirmary. On some fridays they stick around after work, Yosano and Chuuya share a bottle of wine while Ranpo enjoys his hot chocolate because wine tastes like vinegar. Dazai is long gone wandering around a rooftop or a bridge. They are pretty much already drunk when Kunikida arrives at the agency to pick up a document he needs because he works even outside of working hours. His priceless reaction and the scolding that falls onto Chuuya and Yosano's drunk - deaf ears, gets dutifully recorded by Ranpo every time for them to laugh their asses off on monday alongside Dazai.
