For collaboration, it is a key to maintain the world. Everything that exist in the world has to be collaborated, it is not just apply to human. For instance, a piece rock, to you it might not be important and special at all. And yes, one single rock is kind of meaningless, but when there is a ton of small rock, a mountain can be created. Then the mountain may collaborate with water and plant, become a place full of green which suitable for creature. Different kinds of animal could perch in the mountain, it is a habitat for them. With animalâs exertion, the leftover in their feces may provide nutrition to the plant, which is one of the elements to maintain their life. What I am saying is that, everything must has a relation, we might collaborating with a rock or something/someone we donât know, we are collaborating with everything in the way direct or indirect..
Since the collaboration of life is a huge topic, I decided to focus one collaborative relation which we must know and easy to understand. My second assignment is about breeding of human. The relations between female and male. Breeding process is simple, having sex and then may have a baby. But is it that basic for human?
The word âHumanâ can be identified as earth-bound and body-limited conscious mammals, with feelings, ability to think and reason. Well for contemporary artists who are practicing the concept of post-human may not agree with that, but for me, I agree with that definition. The feeling of commiseration belongs to human, so does that of shame and dislike; and that of reverence and respect; and that of approving and disapproving. This is what make Human different from other kind, in my point of view, we wouldnât give birth because of we have to. I am not saying animals are doing that, but since we still canât prove it, with the knowledge we have, yes they do it for generating. For us, we wouldnât have sex on the street randomly and get a baby. In order to do that, we must have ârelationshipâ.
My idea of my work is the relationship between a couple, husband and wife. Couples get together may because of love, then they get married, and may have a baby, a family. In my point of view, an ideal relationship consist of four element, love, intimacy, trust and commitment. These aspects may have different definition, but they all consist of relation, consist collaborative.
In the middle of my work, there is a couple and a baby. The man with blue hair is hugging with a woman in reddish hair. The baby was surrounded by them and a shield with blue and red colour. Blue and Red show the difference between the men and women, difference of personality, like and race. Since blue and red is a contrasting color, in my painting, it represents that no matter how different you are, with the four element, which is a kind of collaboration, they can still be together. Three of them are smiling, show that once you agree with this collaboration, once you try hard to maintain the relationship, you may find happiness. The baby is a result of their collaboration, a new life which represents responsibility. Beside three of the character, there lots of dirty marks and splashing mark around them, the marks represent the destruction of relation, distrust, seduction etc. It tried to destroy the relationship between the couples, but the couple had already commit, to collaborate, to love what they have. They protect the baby with their body, their love and passion.
My work may look simple, but what i think is, life is just that simple. There is thousand kinds of collaboration I can mention, but why not just focus on the nearest one? Cherish the movement and treasure the people around you.
