Did an interview recently with Dan Ekis about making use of Patreon.  Just sharing here in case it’s helpful to anyone! ————————————- Couple things I didn’t mention in the interview but wish I had: Disclosure-wise, I joined Patreon in 2015. It was a relatively new platform at the time and fewer artists were out and about promoting Patreon projects.  That probably gave me an advantage. The field is a bit more saturated at this time. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible to launch with a bang (or to soft-launch and build from there, for that matter) …Leading to my next point - the intro video can make a huge difference in launch success. A video isn’t necessary, of course, but it’s effective. If that’s really out of the question for you, you could alternately do something like a fun, funny or otherwise compelling infographic or short comic. Use the intro to explain what you’re doing and what you need funds for clearly. It helps if your project has a real focus of some kind, even if you’re planning to occasionally share additional, extraneous things.  Put some  effort into making it watchable (or readable) - it’s a first impression, and you can take advantage of it by making it a creative project or piece of art unto itself. People tend to skim over dry text descriptions, but something that gains some traction and attention outside of your usual audience will give you a leg up when you announce your launch. Probably the best example I can think of is Felix Colgrave’s video. Granted he already had a substantial YouTube following, but his Patreon intro was entertaining and memorable. I saw it passed around on just about every social platform I use.

I was already sold on the SU movie, but this scene really cinched it for me. I’ve always loved villain songs, and this one just… I love it. The animation is so fluid and dynamic and Sarah Stiles absolutely knocks it out of the park with her vocal performance. 

Now excuse me while I go listen to the soundtrack on repeat for a few weeks.

[Mystic Messenger] Notice Regarding the Replacement of Current Illustrations

On the 29th of March(KST), there will be replacement of a number of illustrations on Mystic Messenger in order to improve consistency.
