sensing a pattern here
dying at the last part of this interview as Gerard Way explains he would try to find people to play guitar with (like jam together in as a band) through ads in East Coast Rocker magazine when he was 15 years old. But most of the guys he invited over to his parent’s house were in their 30s, which his parents didn’t particular like:
love the fact he seemed to realize how weird that whole story sounded during that sentence lol while Frank Iero was trying to keep it together throughout the whole thing:
gerard way warped tour '05 moodboard
circa 2014 you could tweet gerard way about any woman and they would go God I Wish That Were Me
Last bit of gerard I’m posting. I’m proud of him and I hope to see him again.

Frank talks to Benny Horowitz of the Gaslight Anthem about his experience first working with Ray in My Chemical Romance:
Frank Iero: I think the thing that really struck me immediately was how incredible Ray was, of course. Benny Horowitz: Really? Okay. FI: I mean, he was… no one I had ever met played like him. BH: Wow. How so? FI: His roots came from metal, but also classical. So the way that he was playing, and his picking style, and his fretting was just lightyears beyond. BH: That makes sense, because he always gave me sort of a Brian May vibe. So that kind of makes sense. FI: Oh god, yeah. And he learned from his brother, and just, you know, by ear just listening to his favorite records and stuff like that. But his tastes were way more varied than the people I was playing with. So that immediately was like, oh shit. What he’s doing right now, I need to learn from him. And also, it’s making my brain do other things. This isn’t like four-chord punk rock that I’ve been playing for years. I’m actually gonna grow and expand. And you know it was, at first, very intimidating, you know? BH: Sure. FI: But that’s the stuff. Like, if something scares the shit out of you, you gotta fucking do it, because that’s how you’re gonna grow as an artist, you know?
