How much reading can I fit in a week? 🫣
Some quotes from Maybe In Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Have you read this book yet?
BOOK REVIEW
Book: Two Twisted Crowns
Author: Rachel Gillig
Series: The Shepherd King Book 2
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kindle Unlimited
The plot is better in book 2 but I like the connection between Ravyn and Elspeth more in book 1. Have you read this one yet? What did you think?
When the plot starts to twist 😂
January Reading Wrap Up
Read 4 books in January and my favorite is One Dark Window. What is your favorite read in January?
5 Star Reads of 2025
The Duke and I (Bridgertons Book 1) by Julia Quinn: although I've watched the series on netflix, the events in the book are slightly different but is still engrossing We'll Always Have Summer (Summer Book 3) by Jenny Han: The events in this book got me hooked, there are major differences between the book and the series but I suggest reading the book first Fourth Wing (The Empyrean Book 1) by Rebecca Yarros: At first, I thought it was going to be another weak FMC with an overprotective MMC. Kinda true but Violet proved herself worth it by her determination. Also, Xaden is such a charmer. The events in the lake near Athebyne hurts so much and that's where it all starts. I suggest listening to the Graphic Audio as well Iron Flame (The Empyrean Book 2) by Rebecca Yarros: It started slow but about halfway through the book, the story picked up and I couldn't put it down until the end. The ending was heartbreaking so prepare some tissue. Again, listen to the Graphic Audio Onyx Storm (The Empyrean Book 3) by Rebecca Yarros: Following the events from the previous book, this book is more plot focused without sacrificing character development for both major and minor characters. A major character from book 1 is redeemed and a slightly minor character stepped up. But still, the ending is so heartbreaking, even more that we have to wait for the next book. Listen to the Graphic Audio. Imogen's voice actress was great. A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOTAR Book 2) by Sarah J Maas: started as a light read but this author's style is to pack all the action in the last 25% of the book so you just have to read through it. Believe me, just read it. A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOTAR Book 3) by Sarah J Maas: What Feyre did in the beginning of this book was so badass. I think we've see a slight redemption arc from someone controversial here. Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass Book 4) by Sarah J Maas: This book begins the actual plot and ended the first part of the series, in my opinion. The series just keeps getting better from this book onward. Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass Book 5) by Sarah J Maas: Huge cliffhanger at the end of this book and the events leading up to it were just so good! Definitely a page turner. Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass Book 7) by Sarah J Maas: Oh this is probably the best book I've read. All 1000 pages are great. I've cried so much, and it's not about love life. It's about friendships, hardships, and a lot of other ships. But read the first 6 books first. And I know how thick this book feels like but I'm telling you, it's not going to drag.
Queen of Shadows
Chaol: It's hard to be friends without trust. Nesryn: Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Stay the course, but also plot another one. Adapt. Aelin: People will believe anything they hear these days. Asterin: Everybody is something. Rowan: I don't know whether to throttle you or clap you on the back. Aelin: How can I take away somebody who means the world to someone else? Even if she's my enemy. - Rowan: What do you want me to tell you, Fireheart? Aelin: Tell me that even if I lead us all to ruin, we'll burn in hell together. Rowan: We're not going to hell, Aelin. But wherever we go, we'll go together. Rowan: Even when we're apart tomorrow, I'll be with you every step of the way. And every step after - wherever that may be. - Manon: What is it like? To love Asterin: It was like dying a little every day. It was like being alive, too. It was joy so complete it was pain.
I love Emrys
Emrys: What are you doing that makes her come here with such emptiness in her eyes? Emrys: I see her slipping away, bit by bit, because you shove her down when she so desperately needs someone to help her back up. Emrys: She has no hope, Prince. She has no hope left in her heart. Help her. If not for her sake, then at least for what she represents - what she could offer all of us, you included.
She was the heir of fire. She was fire, and light, and ash, and embers. She was Aelin Fireheart, and she bowed for no one and nothing, save the crown that was hers by blood and survival and triumph.
Rowan was cold
Rowan to Aelin: There is nothing that I can give you. Nothing I want to give you. You are not owed an explanation for what I do outside of training. I don't care what you have been through or what you want to do with your life. The sooner you can sort out your whining and self-pity, the sooner I can be rid of you. You are nothing to me, and I do not care.
Queen Elena of Adarlan
Elena: You could rattle the stars. You could do anything, if you only dared. And deep down, you know it, too. That's what scares you most.
I'm still Team Dorian
Celaena: What's the point of having a mind if you don't use it to make judgments? Dorian: What's the point in having a heart if you don't use it to spare others from the harsh judgments of your mind?
Onyx Storm
What if Ridoc actually dies and doesn't make it to book 4? In Onyx Storm and Iron Flame, he escaped or evaded Malek, both witnessed by Violet. But what if Malek actually wants to take Ridoc?
