So Heated Rivalry….I feel like a have a pretty bad parasocial thing going on. Besides that though. Absolutely LOVED the finale.
I loved that they were finally honest with each other. Shane shared his thoughts, clearing away some of the doubt Ilya was feeling.
Also can we talk about the domesticity of it all. The couch, the lake, the fire pit. The whole thing just warms my heart.
I love that Ilya was a bit of a menace. And let’s be honest, Hayden definitely probably had some inclination that Shane was up to something naughty, cause we was he breathing so hard and sweating out of nowhere, and then kinda rushing him off the phone! I don’t know though, I’ve heard that Hayden can be a bit slow on the uptake.
When it comes to Daddy Hollander’s accidental voyeurism, I’m just glad that’s all he saw and not full on back breaking or even a gawk gawk 3000.

He hightailed it outta there though. I actually also like how quickly he went into explaining why he was there. He realized that he went to his son’s place and witnessed something he definitely wasn’t supposed to see. So I liked that part.
Ilya’s steady presence definitely helped Shane through this. He would have spiralled more if he had to do it alone.
I liked the moment between Shane and Yuna as well, when she apologized to him. Hudson’s acting in that scene did something for me. Watching him, you could see his distress, refusing to look at Yuna for a while. That was a beautiful moment.
I like that they ended the episode on a happy note and with a little giggle for me.
Yuna couldn’t fathom why they had to text before showing up but both Shane and Ilya are like PLEASE text before you show up, you don’t need to see or hear anything you’re not supposed to see or hear.
On another note, the fact that this show was filmed 30 minutes from my house in all directions blows my mind.
