Strengthened relationships with the top black VCs and angel investors in the world. 7. Maintained presence, empathy, and support for my younger siblings. - 8. A QUICK WORD: Don’t let the grind kidnap your essence. Found this e-mail from my 1st year Constitution Law professor about 2 months ago and it saved my life. When I found it, I was suffering from serious cognitive exhaustion and mild depression from all of my recent life transitions. I started noticing mental tasks that were usually effortless, took a little more time. I wasn’t drawing connections as fluidly as usual, and I would over analyze simple questions and come to incorrect (or ridiculous) conclusions. My ability to do math on the fly was gone, and my memory in general was diminished. A local neurologist told me stress, fatigue, sadness, and anxiety had decreased my processes by a crazy margin and that I needed to get sleep, happiness, and excitement to get back to normal. I took time to rest and then went on vacation with friends and magically I was back. Here’s the word: put your health and wellness first or you could blink and lose the parts most dear to you!!!
