how do I know what to write on my rp blog rules page?
Hi Anon! Good for you for making an rp blog. Here are some things to start you out, and you can answer them in your rules page via bullets, numbers, sentences, however you want to relay the information:
Who do you allow to roleplay with you? A specific group? Anyone with an rp blog? Anyone at all on Tumblr? Mutuals only? Only people in your muse's fandom?
What fandoms, topics, or genres do you want to explore? Which won't you allow?
What method of contact do you prefer for people to talk to you out of character or about starting something in character: inbox? Im's? Discord? Email? Something else?
Where do you rp? Here on Tumblr blogs? Tumblr im's? Discord? Somewhere else? Where don't you allow rp?
How old are you, the person writing the character(s)? This can be simple (e.g. "I'm an adult" or "I'm a minor")
Do you write smut/n.sfw?* Do you require "po.rn with plot", n.sfw only with chemistry, "fade to black" and skip over the smut, or have no smut at all? *Please keep in mind that if you the writer are under 18, it is illegal to engage in sexual rps.
Do you have any triggers or squicks you would prefer not be explored in roleplay?
Will there be potentially triggering content? What topics? Be specific.
Do you tag for triggers? What is your tagging system for them?
Who is allowed to send you asks? Anyone? Mutuals only? Roleplay blogs only?
Who can reblog your headcanons, drabbles, art, etc?
How often do you write roleplay replies? Is there a speed or lack thereof from a roleplay partner that you don't think would work with your style?
What is your writing style? Third person, first person, second person? Asterisks/script style? Dialogue/banter? Something else?
I hope this offers a good starting point to brainstorm any boundaries or points you want to mention.
