Now, while Kawhi was definitely the show-stopper, this was, in no way, a one player victory. The starters and the bench all contributed at crucial points and the whole team showed up. Some people are calling this win a fluke and a stroke of luck, and they cannot be more wrong. The Raptors could not have defeated solid teams like @brooklynnets , @sixers , @bucks and @warriors in 7-games series just with luck. Our team was deeper than their opponents and did not rely on just their superstar #TheClaw or all-star General (@kyle_lowry7 ). @pskills43 played the best basketball of his life and deservingly won the MIP award. @marcgasol may not have put up huge numbers, but he moved the ball so well and was cruicial in stopping other teams' big men. @greenranger14 may have lost his touch towards the end, but he was excellent in Game 3 against GSW and his defense was excellent. @fredvanvleet earned a vote for Finals MVP and that says a lot. He just turned his game around after the birth of his son and added a lot of firepower to Raptors offence and defense. @sergeibaka protected the rim like a pro and blocked shots left, right and center. @delonwright contributed when it mattered and was an important piece in the winning roster. And, all this was a result of the calculated risk that GM Masai Ujiri took in the beginning of the season by trading our beloved Raptor @demar_derozan for Kawhi Leonard. He faced a lot of backlash for doing so, but he knew what was right for the team and his gamble paid off big time. In the process, we also had to sacrifice @jvalanciunas, but again, that trade worked as well.
