On the Subject of Virtue and Ice.
Hail and well met, adventurers.
It's nearing the close of another year, and 2025 has been a big one for me, even though it seems a bit . . . lackluster compared to 2024. But, I think that's just my bad brain talking. I need to look on the bright side of things.
Since 2023, I've been keeping a planner to track the various things I finish every day. It proved to be a major motivator, and I was able to get back into the swing of writing regularly.
I had 10 projects on FF-Net that I'd left to gather dust for a long, long time, and I decided that I wasn't going to let that go on any longer. I resolved to finish each of those projects, and publish them. Anyone who had been waiting for an update for anything I've published on FF-Net wouldn't be waiting any longer.
(well, except for "kick a hole in the sky," but . . . we'll get to that)
After I managed to finish those projects, I moved to another one. I wanted to move my fiction over to AO3, but . . . I'm weird, and so I knew that I wasn't going to just transfer them over, as is.
I was going to clean up, revise, and revamp my projects to suit my current standards. I have 50 projects on my account, and I resolved to clean up each and every one of them.
I am happy to report that, as of this year, after 700,100 words, I've finished.
What does that mean for 2026?
It means I'm going to be treating my AO3 account the same way I've been treating FF-Net for the past couple of years.
One update published each weekday.
I'm making the transfer. And each of the stories I'm publishing over there are going to be cleaned up, and there's likely to be some surprises. Some of the projects I've revamped are . . . very different, and I'm quite proud of them.
Here's to the new year. Hope to see you around.
Also, yes, I'm going to be heading back to Sky. There's still plenty to explore in that 'verse, and I finally have a clean slate again. I'm also gonna be looking into some new stuff.
