you’ll be a teenager in the early 2010s watching with fascinated horror the rise of gamergate and r/mensrights and be like “wow this is fucked up, good thing it’s just online” and then it will turn into the entirety of mainstream politics for the rest of your life
This is real, btw. Steve Bannon observed gamergate and realized there was an audience of young men who could be radicalized via internet meme culture. MAGA intentionally targeted younger men for recruiting.

It’s amazing how much we can see ourselves in some of the other ape species and how much they likely see of themselves in us.
everyone in the comments going “haha two apes looking at a bug...”

words of wisdom from wikipedia this evening
much to consider
yeah yeah rainbow capitalism is bad and whatever but like. when I was a child, being pro gay was not the popular or lucrative choice. I'm happy that times have changed.
I miss rainbow capitalism. I do. I miss when it felt like public opinion was still pro gay. I understand it was always an empty gesture, but it mattered in a sense of knowing how socially acceptable being queer is. If that makes sense.
it's so easy to do things! it's so easy to get up and do things and get things done! i am capable and motivated and executive dysfunction can't touch me. *starting to cry a little because my affirmations aren't working* it's so easy to do things, come on get up, it's easy, let's do things *mental image of a cartoon trying to move a heavy lazy animal* come onnnnn
IT'S SO EASY TO DO THINGS! IT'S SO EASY TO GET THINGS DONE!!!!
Reblog if you say "Y'all"
Kind of fascinated at the lengths contemporary action-adventure games will go to in order to give the player character a snarky fairy companion, but like in an edgy way. "It's the reanimated severed head of a dead god", "it's a cursed doll possessed by a psychic ghost" buddy, literally all I hear is "hey, listen!".
Watching the process of this absolutely stunning painting makes it even more beautiful.
The artist is Sydney Swisher
when you're feeling full hater mode about a piece of media but you know one of your beloved mutuals enjoys it
countries will be like “nooooo our birth rate is falling exponentially and it’s effecting our economy” and immigrants will be like “hey can you let us in so we can boost your economy and fill your empty jobs and raise our children here” and inevitably the country is like “the only thing worse than a large scale collapse of our population is letting foreigners live here”
i've been phasing the phrase 'google it' out of my vocabulary and going back to 'look it up'. fuck you youve lost your generic trademark privileges
i love writing out numbers and then putting them in parentheses like "one (1)" even when i dont need to i think its funny
