SO,

am I the only one who's gonna speak out about this? Probably. Will I get hate for it? Most likely.

But pls for the love of God. Stop gate keeping the g/t community. We're already such a small fandom, why drive away people who enjoy it just as much as you do.

I'm not sure it's my or anyone's place to tell people how to enjoy a medium if it's literally not hurting anyone.

If you don't like something on your feed then that is your responsibility to curate for yourself.

I know the internet is a wild nasty place. And if you're sensitive to certain topics then that's ok. Heck, even I am not a big fan of some things going around the g/t community but it's not my place to tell people how to do their escapism for them (because for me G/t is precisely that, escape from reality, and if people want to post things that make them and a small handful of friends happy then that is ok aswell).

I'm not gonna tell you that your feelings aren't coming from a valid place but you can't expect tons of people to change just because you feel like it.

To be honest you're no better than the people we fear will laugh or bully us because of this obscure interest.

Maybe it's just me, because I'm an extremely open person for anything and I respect people who are in this fandom too much (shocker I know) to tell them how to enjoy something that is the equivalent to a coping mechanism.

If you need to yell at me for this then my DMs are open but pls stop harassing others and take out your frustrations on me instead. I'm here to listen and talk :0

being tall and tiny adjacent

I don’t know if me being tall irl has anything to do with it, but is there some sort of correlation between irl height and where g/t folk align themselves??? I’ve always been self conscious about being too much, too tall, and I find comfort in putting myself in tiny scenarios. I’m curious if anyone has similar or opposite experiences

personally I love the giant aspect of g/t stories when someone becomes a giant. The realization that nothing is built for them anymore, and that they have to be infinitely careful around everything. People are afraid, and they have every right to be— but it still stings that it takes ages to gain even the most basic amount of trust. That the world they knew their whole life has shunned them, and now with their size and strength it would be so easy to break.

Why does being into g/t feel like a deep dark secret?

I've seen so many people on here say how embarrassed or awkward or even ashamed they feel about their interest in g/t, and it's just like... why

What is it about g/t specifically that feels way weirder than any other 'non mainstream' interest? People who are really into dragons or mermaids or fantasy things in general are usually pretty open about it and no one bats an eye, but then wanting to say "hey I really like giant/tiny people" feels taboo for some reason

Like I swear it was easier for me to come out to my family than it was to tell my closest friends and boyfriend that I really like extreme size differences

And the craziest part? None of them thought it was that weird and I was worried over nothing 😭

Don't you guys love it when a giant sees their tiny in danger and unleashes a side of themselves the tiny has never seen before because nothing matters right now to the giant except for the tiny's safety.

And the tiny is seeing the giant truly angry and dangerous for the first time and it's frightening, but it makes the tiny feel so thankful that the giant is on their side.

And once the tiny is safe again it's almost like a switch has been flipped, and the giant is so gentle and careful and treats the tiny as if they're made of glass as they make sure the tiny is okay.

Protective giants are the best.

The typical princess in a tower story, guarded by a dragon that gets slain by a prince, which the princess then lovingly marries... though, unfortunately, it wasn't so simple with this pair.

Her prince was the dragon. An irreversible curse. The two grew up together, getting along ever since they were children, the princes curse began to take hold at 13, shocking both kindoms who had been certain that he was the destined prince for the princess...well... was. The princess never blamed him for being locked up, though she did have a hard time accepting that he was still supposed to be her true love at first, over time that worry faded.

Every night the dragon would sneak into the princesses room and fall asleep beside her, keeping her company… but as years passed it became harder to join her, the dragon would grow, but the tower would remain the same size.

Her dragon was… odd. A kind soul, gentle, and head over heels for the princess. He spoke seldom as it seemed to unsettle those around him. He knew his position in this, his curse which unfortunately roped the princess with him into solidarity... but he had no say in the matter. Die, and yes, the princess would technically be free, but she would never have her happily ever after, and thus risking a greater suffering. Live, and the princess was forever trapped with him, unable to live the way she was intended to.

Even though the two got along, the princess was always rather distant, more so physically rather than emotionally, she trusted him, she openly admits so, but as fate would have it she was naturally terrified of dragons, it simply couldn't be helped, and the dragon understood that.

He never referred to himself as a prince despite being born with royal blood. He simply didn't fit the physical description, and it took too long to explain it to everyone, so dragon it was. Though, he did always have the brightest smile when the princess called him her prince.
