Slow and steady is definitely the way to go. thanks for the extra care, Dante anon.
When they have trouble sleeping, Dante likes to pace around their room quietly. Sometimes they will get their PDA to check back notes they've written in the past and either correct or add details. Sometimes they will lay in bed and stare at the ceiling, just waiting for the hours to pass.
That night they don't have much of a choice. The moment Dante let the uninvited guest in, their fate was already sealed.
Their dearest tricked them into cuddling first. It wasn't a request they could or wanted to deny, so they complied. It was easy to say yes, because they didn't have anything else to do. Then, when Dante fell into the trap, they got caught into a constrictor snake grip. No amount of insomnia would get them to let go of the Executive Manager.
Dante tries to move around a little, it usually made them let go, but this time it is no use. Dante even asks them a trivial question, "have you gone to the bathroom already?", but the response is just a sleepy mumble. They sigh, finally admitting defeat.
The arms around them don't squeeze too hard, but they're definitely unmovable. They tick the time away, looking at a nearby wall and thinking about what to do.
"You're soft and warm." Their dearest mumbles into their shoulder and they can feel the smile on their lips. It makes their chest feel warmer suddenly. "And your ticking is so soothing..."
What usually would be a source of grief for Dante, their inability to communicate, becomes a blessing in their thoughts. Even though Dante is captive to their hold, they can't help but feel lucky.
< Have I become your plushie? > They write on their beloved's arm and receive a weak noise in response.
They sigh and click in annoyance, but it's not a bad thing, not at all. After all, that night they both are able to have a sound, restful night of sleep.
Now I'm your "pretty please anon". I would like to see a situation where everyone in the unit decided to celebrate something and get drunk. Maybe even Vergil? The only sober ones are Dante and Charon, because Charon is driving, and Dante just can't (but they really wants to). pretty please
An important clarification, if you can write this as a situation, not as headcanons (if you find it difficult, then choose the second option), I would like to see it from a sober person, that is, from Dante

They had a successful day hunting another distortion, so when the sinners asked Dante for a little time to unwind before going back to the bus, they couldn't say no. Vergilius gave them a look, but instead of saying anything, he smiled. Dante should have interpreted that gesture as a warning; more precisely a bad omen. They were known for being oblivious to certain cues, unfortunately.
They arrived at the restaurant of the sinners' choice earlier, and once everyone voted on paying the meal out of their paychecks, everything started going off the rails. They were so excited to be doing something other than killing things and going back to the bus corridor that Dante couldn't say a thing. They counted on the sinners being able to exercise a little caution and good sense. They were expecting them to drink responsibly. Oh what a series of terrible decisions.
Right now the three tables that the sinners occupy are absolutely chaotic, all of the restaurant's patrons have steered clear of their corner. That's good because then nobody will be picking fights with strangers, but that doesn't say a thing about picking fights with each other.
< Guys, please calm down... > They try to reach out to Heathcliff and Ishmael who have been barking drunken insults back and forth for five minutes. Their words don't get through and they can't help but wonder if they'll need to rewind sometime soon.
It is Outis who steps in on their behalf to placate the fight but she's just as intoxicated and ends up joining the argument. In the midst of this battlefield, somehow, Yi Sang disappeared.
Dante walks by a Don Quixote who's joyfully reciting a speech from one of the many series she enjoys. The staff was smart enough not to let them in with their weapons, so she's wielding a spoon. Valliantly brandishing it into the air, standing on top of a table. Her performance could bring tears to anybody's eyes. It doesn't even look like she's drunk, but they know it.
Gregor lays with his head on the exact same table she stands on, his glasses are resting near his face. He covers his eyes with a hand while he groans. Hong Lu is right by his side, eyes sparkling as he applauds the play before him and pokes Gregor, calling his attention so they watch Don Quixote's performance together. Dante didn't have the presence of mind to suggest that Gregor moves to a less... eventful table.
Eventually they find their way to the table where Faust and Meursault still sit, sipping their drinks quietly while they watch the events unfold. This is where Yi Sang was, and from where he disappeared.
< A-are you sure you haven't seen him go anywhere...? > Dante asks them. Faust and Meursault give them looks of pity.
"The executive manager hasn't found him yet, Meursault." Faust says and Meursault frowns, "Pay."
"Most unfortunate." Meursault replies and with a sigh reaches for his wallet.
< YOU WERE BETTING ON THIS?! > Dante exclaims while they watch the transaction conclude.
"He's under." Faust says cryptically and then leans on the table with a slight smile.
< If only you gave me precise directions... ah, wait. > Under? Realization finally hits them.
They crouch under the table and there is Yi Sang. He's curled on the floor, looking slightly green but otherwise unharmed. Dante almost sighs in relief, but behind their back, Don Quixote's 'play' has grown livelier and louder.
Somehow Don Quixote managed to pull Ryoshu onto the 'stage' and gave her a spoon, goading her to fight a fictional battle. Sinclair has climbed the table in hopes of disengaging them, but his voice is not going through. Don Quixote and Ryoshu face each other, ferocious looks in their eyes.
Were it another person, Dante wouldn't worry too much, but knowing Ryoshu, they are certain she is capable of inflicting bodily harm even with a spoon. They quickly apologize to Yi Sang in their mind and rush to help Sinclair.
On another table, Rodion joined the arguing trio of Heathcliff, Ishmael and Outis. Unlike Outis, she didn't join in with the intent of placating, instead Dante could observe her give small malicious comments that seemed to stoke the flames of discord. They make a mental note to bring that up in a future consultation, but decide that Ryoshu vs. Don Quixote is a bigger problem currently. That's until Ishmael lifts a chair.
< Ishmael, no! > They take a detour and hurry to the ginger's side.
From the table where he safely sits with Charon, Vergilius frowns.
"Tick-Tock seems to be in trouble." Charon comments while she eats Vergilius' dessert.
"Hm..."
"It is loud, Vergie." She complains.
"Yes, we will be going back to the bus soon."
"Yay." She replies without any visible excitement.
Vergilius told himself he wouldn't interfere unless they started breaking down the restaurant. They're almost there, of course, but not yet. It's good to let Dante make these decisions on their own, after all if he continues babying the manager and their sinners, none of them will learn a thing. He sighs and keeps an eye on the commotion, not moving a single finger to help the struggling executive manager.
Dante and reader scenario where... They both are just- very very touchstarved (like I am ? Naaaah. Seriously, I'll never have enough of this clock)

They've been tiptoeing around each other the whole day, and even now that the company's business are paused for the nightly rest, they are still doing this little dance. Vergilius looked at both of them and then gave an extra tired sigh and walked away. It took Rodion grabbing them by the wrist and forcefully making them hold hands for something to happen.
"Now that's better. Why don't you go rest together?" She winked at the blushy duo (if it's possible for a metallic clock head to blush) and went into her room.
Both Dante and their partner are completely glued to the spot, their joined hands feel like they might spontaneously combust at any second. In spite of Rodion's extra help, they were still stuck in the bus corridor.
A door opens ahead, and Vergilius' voice can be heard.
"You two better not be standing in the corridor when I walk out..." He warns and it's all it takes for them to bolt towards Dante's room.
It's only when the door is safely closed behind them that they can breathe easy again. They sit on the floor, backs leaning on the door, and look at one another; then they laugh. Dante's laughter is a clicking metallic noise, like bells chiming. It's quite cute.
"Why's he so scary...?" They ask Dante, who shakes their head. They both realize their shoulders are touching and immediately turn their heads away in embarrassment.
A minute passes and they realize this is no good. They really want to be with one another, so why fret? Dante's partner takes a deep, calming breath and carefully leans their head on the manager's shoulder. Dante startles slightly, but after a moment they remove the glove from one hand and brush their fingers slightly over their lover's cheek. Their lover closes their eyes and sighs.
Dante places their still gloved hand over theirs and squeezes lightly, cupping their cheek and rubbing small circles with their thumb.
"We should stop being so silly about this..." Their partner mutters. Dante nods carefully, then pats their cheek twice. They open their eyes and sit straight again.
< Do you want to- > Dante starts signaling with their hands, then after a pause, they finish, < Do you want to cuddle? >

He's tense, clenching his jaw and grasping at the pillow under his head with clenched fists. His breathing is labored, shaky and his entire body trembles in the slightest.
Vergilius is a proud man; even when he's completely bare before his lover, he still tries to keep his cool demeanor. He's failing at it, and they can see it clearly. It brings a smile to their lips.
They lean in closer, close enough to press a kiss to his cheek and he scoffs lightly at that.
"Stop teasing me..." He whispers to them.
They say nothing, opting to gently kiss his neck while their fingers fondle his crotch. They keep their touches feather-light, but it's still too much for somebody as touch-starved as Vergilius.
"Hah..." He gasps against his will and shuts his eyes tight, clenching his jaw harder.
"Could you relax just a little bit?" His lover finally speaks, "I'm afraid I'll hurt you like this..."
Vergilius turns his face away, breathing in deeply before he replies, "You couldn't hurt me even if you wanted."
They pout at that, choosing to rub the tip of a finger over his most sensitive spot, a light punishment for his stubbornness. A low, breathy moan escapes his lips. If Vergilius was prone to cursing, he would have done so.
They place another kiss along his jawline, tender as always, and mumble an apology against his skin. The meaning of the apology is completely lost when they let out a light chuckle.
This would be much easier if Vergilius could drop the tough act already, but oh well... His lover is used to this, and they know he will eventually relax. They're both pent up, it's just a matter of time until they have him moaning, gasping their name and begging for more.
Hello! Distortion Anon here, back again. I wanted to say that I really enjoyed the Reader X Distortion ones! Just. Absolutely primo stuff, like *chefs kiss*. It was a big request so I don't mind you not doing Vergilius or Dante, really it was everything I could have asked for.
But speaking of Vergilius, fuck. The man has already lost so many people close to him that the reader distorting would be utterly devastating, after he would have to re-open his heart and everything... No pressure, of course, take this when you can, but I would also be deeply interested in seeing how Vergilius would react to someone they're close with distorting.
He's sad and wet and pathetic
Vergilius sort of... It's sort of like being in a tar pit for him. He can't move, or breathe, or think. But somehow, it feels like home. This suffering, grief and abandonment; like something above in the sky forgot he existed, or fate itself forgot that there's only so much a person can take. He feels utterly abandoned. The fact that nothing tried to interneve either for him or his loved one must be a proof that there's nothing looking out for them. No angels or gods or stars to be wished upon. It's just misery.
Wherever he goes, whatever he does, it's always death and misery and abandonment and loneliness. They're still there; his loved one is still alive and breathing, but that thing only holds a tiny fragment of who they used to be. This distortion is their fears brought to life. This is his fears brought to life.
The contract tells him he shouldn't intervene, this is a job for the sinners and Dante. Even if he was able to, he wouldn't be able to fight back. Maybe he should let the monster tear him apart, maybe it's what he deserves; but then again, he's only still alive because he still has a wish to fulfill.
He trusts Dante will make things right, he knows they will. They can enter a distorted being's fathoms of the ego and bring them back. He knows Dante can do it, but still it hurts.
And if that person is finally brought back, he decides he will not be part of their life anymore. He thinks it will be better this way.
