What’s new here?
Visited this site again after a loooooong while.
I was hoping I would get a nice sunset but the clouds on the horizon made sure I can get none. But they gave me a beautiful sky instead.
This is my first time lapse video. My camera having a built in intervalometer makes shooting time lapse videos a lot less complicated. I just needed a tripod and set it up to shoot 800 frames for 30 minutes till sunset.
One of the colors I don’t have trouble distinguishing, yellow. Life of someone having a colour vision deficiency...
Photo taken at Baguio Botanical Gardens.
Orange is the happiest color.
Took this photo of oranges being sold by a street vendor at Baguio City. The orange color really caught my attention. Good thing the vendor stopped for me to be able to take a good shot.
This is the life at the city, routinary, tiring. But you’ll get used to it.

Everything in nature is beautiful even if they are so simple. This inflorescence of a plant I don’t even know haven’t even bloomed yet. But it really stood out of the green foliage where I saw it swaying with the light breeze.
Canto Bogchi Joint
My childhood memories of Baguio are Burnham Park, Mines View Park, Camp John Hay and Wright Park. But when we, together with my office mates, went there last Labor Day weekend, I realized, Baguio can be also a summer destination for foodies. There are a lot of restaurants which offers great food and sometimes, with a Baguio twist. One food place we visited to have lunch is Canto Bogchi Joint located at Ketchup Food Community just across Wright Park.
First impression, the place is very cozy and not cramped. Perfect for hungry tourists enjoying the cool Baguio weather.
We chose to sit at the balcony area overlooking the vacant space shaded by pine trees outside which I think is reserved for events.
Giving in to the pangs of hunger, we ordered their best seller Lomo Ribs with salad and mashed potatoes. For 150 pesos, this one of the best barbecue ribs we have ever tried. The meat is flavorful, tender and can easily be separated from the bone. The salad, with the sweetness of strawberries, complements the smoky barbecue ribs.
My other office mate ordered Fish Steak with mango salsa since she doesn’t eat pork. I really can’t say much about the fish steak because I haven’t tried it but from the looks of it, I bet this also tastes good.
Together with mason jars of lychee shake, we enjoyed every single bite of the sumptuous meals served to us. With the ambiance, value for money and the experience I had, I would definitely return and dine at Canto Bogchi Joint when I visit Baguio again.
Everything in nature is beautiful. Can anyone identify what is the name of this flower?

We always go to Baguio City every summer when I was a kid. I have childhood memories of this place and seeing how urbanization changed this Summer Capital makes me think, “How will Baguio look like after ten years?”

I love dogs. So when I met Zanzan during our short stay at Baguio last May 1, I instantly fell in love with her. Of course, that was after I asked my office mate if she already had her anti rabies shots. She’s a lively fellow who played with me, occasionally play biting my feet, while I have my camera trying to take shots of her cuteness. Good thing she easily tired herself down and I was able to take these photos.
Btw, I call her Sansa, after Sansa Stark of Game of Thrones.

I'm a newbie on astro photography. Last weekend at Boracay, I tried for the first time to shoot the Milky Way. I admit I need to practice more so my photos will be way better.
First, I need to have a better wide angle lens. I just used a 35mm f/2.0 Fujinon lens and as evident on the photo, it is too cramped to capture the whole galaxy belt.
Second, I forgot about the '500 rule'. This exposure was set at 30sec. It should have been only 10 considering I used a 35mm lens on a 1.5 crop factor APS-C sensor. When you zoom this photo, the stars already have trails.
Third, I need to check what time will the Milky Way be visible on the horizon. I took this photo at around midnight. The camera was pointed almost upwards just for it to capture the galaxy belt. A better foreground than the coconut trees could have been better.

I have left this blog unattended for quite a while now. I will try to post things here again.
Paitan Zenbu no Se
Because I love ramen, I’m currently building a list of the best ramen places here in Manila. I’ll call this series, the “Quest for the Best Ramen”.
The first one to cross off the list is this best seller from Kichitora of Tokyo. The rich soup, smoky flavor of pork and the unique texture of molten lava egg (ajitsuke taago), this ramen is a must try.
Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.

Applied physics is called chemistry, applied chemistry is called biology, and applied biology is called sociology. Each is more complex, vague, and unpredictable than the last.

This is awkward.
Dont just fall for someone, you'll crash. It would be much better to fall forever for someone. Just like how the Moon forever falls around the Earth and the Earth forever falls around the Sun.

Leftovers
If time permits and if I am on the mood, I go to the supermarket, buy a week’s worth of grocery and cook them myself. Since I only live alone, there are days when leftovers pile up in the fridge and I don’t know what to do with them. And there are days when I was able to salvage what could have been contents of my trash. Well, these are two of what I was able to prepare lately. Thanks to my office mate who gave me the idea for both of them.
Fried rice with oyster sauce
I have a bottle of oyster sauce which is already going to expire after a month. I can’t remember why I bought it months ago, but it was left untouched in my ref. Luckily, I also have a few caps of shiitake mushroom left after I used them before when I cooked Italian pasta. I just bought a few stalks of cilantro at the market, sauteed them with garlic and onion, fried the rice and added oyster sauce, then poached an egg.
Spanish sardine pasta
I have leftover pasta sitting coldly in a container inside my ref because the Italian sauce I mentioned above was not enough for the pasta I cooked. (Yes, I suck on estimating.) Luckily, I also have a canned Spanish sardines in my cupboard and I bought a can of chopped mushrooms. I just sauteed the sardines with garlic and onion, added a dash of olive oil afterwards, put enough on top of the reheated pasta, sprinkled dried McCormick basil leaves and Parmesan cheese (which is also going to expire soon) and voila!
