So, hello. I'm using my platform here now to inform about what's happening in my country. I'm from Cali, Colombia. The city that's been burning for 5 days now and being massacred by its own government.

We need your help to spread awareness on this. As of yet, there hasn't been a lot of international news coverage about it, and our own news are too biased in favor of the government to be of any help.

How did it all start?

On April 28, a national strike was called for people to raise their voices against a tax and health reforms proposed by president Iván Duque, during an economic and social crisis exacerbated by the covid-19 pandemic.

Among other things, this reform wanted to tax us for funeral services (during a pandemic). They also wanted to increase the price of food and water, when most of the population has a salary that does not allow a family to live with dignity. Moreover, another nefastous health reform has yet to be taken down.

But the response of the national government to these protests has been to deploy military forces against the civilian population. A violent, disproportionate, and arbitrary action that incurs in serious human rights violations. My city, Santiago de Cali, has been one of the most affected places. During the night hours of the last few days, in different areas of the city, the police and the mobile anti-riot squad (ESMAD) have burst into peaceful demonstrations attacking with firearms, tear gas, and leaving a balance of dead and wounded that has not yet been counted. They have also captured many demonstrators, some of whose whereabouts are unknown.

My state is threatening the lives of the Colombian population in full view of the world. Please, don't let them silence us!

Gente venho aqui pedir a ajuda de vocês porque no dia 20/03 minha mãe sofreu um AVC e desde então descobrimos diversas complicações, como hipertensão e diabetes mas o problema maior é que ela perdeu os movimentos do lado esquerdo e precisamos fazer fisioterapia dentro de 6 meses para que ela recupere os movimentos porque depois disso as chances são muito baixas. Consegui uma ajuda boa pelo governo mas apenas por um dia na semana e faz alguns exames mas em conversas que consegui ter com alguns fisioterapeutas, todos disseram que o tempo é crucial para o caso dela, que ela tem o prazo de seis meses para fazer fisioterapia, a fazendo NO MÍNIMO três vezes por semana para poder se recuperar da melhor forma possível. Esse AVC nos fez descobrir diversos problemas de saúde nela como os que já foram citados a cima e também um possível futuro Alzheimer devido ao seu cérebro ficando cansado. Mas o problema maior são os movimentos agora, é a minha mãe gente e eu to morrendo de medo de perdê-la pois sua qualidade de vida (principalmente para ela mesma) está em risco, então por favor eu peço: me ajudem!

ultimamente tenho visto vários posts aqui no tumblr de criadores de conteúdo comentando sobre o grande número de seguidores e o pouco engajamento nos posts, e infelizmente isso é muito real e acontece inclusive comigo.

é perfeitamente compreensível que um tumblr antigo tenha notas desproporcionais a quantidade de seguidores, porque esses seguidores são, a grande maioria, contas antigas e inativas, mas eu estou aqui há pelo menos 6 meses e ultimamente as notas nos posts só vem caindo.

entendam, a gente NÃO tá aqui por notas e nem seguidores, mas o real motivo do pouco engajamento é óbvio né? a grande maioria só pega os resources e nem se quer se dá ao trabalho de curtir/reblogar.

além de ter nosso trabalho repostado, desvalorizado, alguns sofrendo até hate por motivos banais, pessoas mal educadas cobrando na ask, a gente ainda deveria ser obrigades a não cobrar o mínimo reconhecimento?
