ok guys, it's officially the end of an era. i've felt really detached from this fandom for a while, and i've felt like a resource for a while and that's not what i want to be.

to make a long story short, i am retiring from the pokémon fandom, and i don't know if i'll ever come back. that's not against anyone here, but i'm tired of feeling rather unwelcome? and having the anxiety plaguing me, because it's not good for my mental health and im finally at the point of acceptance that i have to let go for my own good.

i am not deleting this blog, because i've put so much work into the lore, and that is something i am so, so proud of. ten years of world building and a long time of having fun, but it's time to move on

headcanon/development questions  › If asked today, would your muse say they were happy? How long have they been happy?  › @picavecalyx​ 

for the most part, ghetsis would say that he is happier than he has been in the past, but for someone who is such an idealist, there’s always more work to be done. the issue is not about whether or not ghetsis is happy, because he can find something to find joy in if he looks around. he has wonderful pokemon companions, he’s married to a goddess of the light, his son is out there living his best life. the people of unova are healing from what he did, and he’s slowly healing, too. 

and even when he was a child, isolated and more often than not appeared sad, he had things to be happy about. he had his best friend, a silver scaled deino. he had the privilege of being educated, of having a warm bed and never wondering where his next meal would come from. ghetsis is well aware that he was born with more privilege than most people would ever have in their lives, and he knows not to be an ass about it. 

so, he’s always had something to be happy about, but he isn’t sure if he’s fully satisfied, and that’s something he thinks is normal. he’s an idealist, it’s hard to completely satisfy him, because there’s always going to be some injustice that he wants to fix- but he’s always been happy about at least one thing in his life, no matter how shitty other aspects may have been.
