identifying bugs in posts

hi i identify bugs sometimes. please don't take my guesses as 100% (i do this for fun on tumblr dot com) + please suggest if i misidentified! I'm more familiar with scientific names as well, I typically use a common name listed on a Wikipedia or iNaturalist article.

this blog runs on primarily submissions and post submissions! i only get so many non-bugblr bug posts on my dash.

please only send me insects. i will not ID myriapods (centipedes, millipedes), or crustaceans (prawns, crabs, woodlouse/pill bugs, isopods). I will try to ID arachnids, but I'm still learning about them.

location the photo was taken in is preferred but not required (e.g. East coast US)

please note patterns are important. dark/low quality/blurry/weird angle photos are harder to ID and I'm more likely to misidentify!

Hello! It looks like a species of snipe fly! If I had to guess, probably the common snipe fly (Rhagio mystaceus).

I'm not sure! Many species use wood sorrels as host plants (as you're probably dealing with larvae here). If you're curious about more information, I'd recommend starting here or here and looking for other similar sites. Sorry, good luck :)

Hello! it looks like an Imperial Moth (Eacles imperialis) larva!

Full-grown larvae can have a wide range of colours, including brown, burgundy, and green. They can have a lot of hosts, but pine, maple, oak, sweetgum, and sassafras are most common. They have a lifespan of about 4-11 days, since they can't eat.

Found this guy at 2am in my bathroom in central ohio. Looked to be about 1.5-2 inches long but I wasn't wearing my glasses. Photos taken after catching and releasing. Who is he, and do i need to get my apartment fumigated lol

At first glance, it looks like a female Oriental Cockroach (Blatta Orientalis).

Especially as we're getting into spring (peak roach season). They tend to prefer cooler, humid areas (though are not exclusively found in them) and are about 1"–1.25" long. They're a pretty common pest, especially in the US, so I'd definitely recommend taking a look at some pest identification guides about them. They can have a pretty bad smell, so I'd at least check!

Stick insects usually blend into their background, but the male A. manga is blue, standing out against the surrounding foliage
