Yeah. Okay. I said I was done buying more typewriters, but LOOK AT HIM!
He's blue, for Christ sake! I had to take him home. I just had to.

Missing parts on typewriters? I just design and 3D print them myself.
So, I kinda bought yet another typewriter. A beautiful 1933 Underwood Portable (You'll meet this one soon) That machine originally came with metal covers for the ribbon spools. Mine didn't. So I'm currently prototyping a replacement. The printer's running as I type this. Will make it available on printables.com as soon as the design's finalized for everyone to download and print at home. May also offer print-to-order at cost, should anyone without access to a 3D-printer need them.
I'll keep you posted! Top image courtesy of u/Salt_Look6906 on reddit
It's done.
Yeah, my 3D-printer's surface quality isn't what it used to be, but I really don't feel like fine-tuning it at the moment... It's good enough for my standards. Anyways, the model is available on printables.com

FROM THE DESK OF COULDTHEYCATCHKIRA:
I can feel a definite shift in the air. Perhaps this is simply how things are for this match, but I suppose going l--l is better than our poor previous opponents, having gone O--O. Truly, such victories perhaps were hard--won. Regardless, let us consider this a 'newline' of sorts, and no matter what happens when the votes are tabulated, it shall be so. Here. A parting gift. Perhaps it jogs the memory.

Smith-Corona Change-a-Type box for a set of four characters. Since we don't see the box from another angle (or I didn't capture that photo if one was posted), we don't know whether it's for the math series or the language series or what... there were four sets.
Watching Will Wood music videos (as one does) and happened to see this flash across my screen! A quick check for specifics and:

Which blog deserves a place in the hexadecafinals the most?
reading-comp-posting

@reading-comp-posting
“This blog was featured in the video ‘Depths Of The Tumblr Gimmick Blog Iceberg’ on the YouTube channel ‘STRANGE ÆONS.’”
“Unlike a lot of other gimmick blogs, this blog actually adds something relevant to the post they're doing their gimmick on. But reading-comp-posting elevates itself even above other relevant gimmick blogs by both being educational and encouraging others to engage with the post--and with their questions!--in a way they might not have before. Identifying an animal in a photo is relevant, but reading-comp-posting invites the reader to engage with the post and the gimmick in a way that elevates their understanding and improves their skills! Seriously, there's no other gimmick blog like it.”
“This person is God's strongest soldier for trying to introduce media literacy to the piss on the poor website.”
“It's both funny and actually straight up good and useful. It reminds me to stop and think, even on posts it does not touch. It takes some actual work and reflection to make these questions, and I think that should be celebrated.”
“its good :>”
