Suddenly I donât hate minions anymore
there for you.
idsejun:
she speaks and he thinks that she was always a bit more brave than he was, that her voice was still the same steady softness it had always been. and a shudder threatens to run down his spine as he nods at the swing beside him. âfeel free,â pride rises as he manages to keep his voice steady. lifting his legs once more, he begins to swing again just slightly, looking out over the water before them. âthanks. you look well yourself. itâs been a long time, hasnât it?â
Four years is a long time. Not that anyone is counting. She hates that he doesnât seem affected in the way she still is, an aggregate of negative emotions clawing at her chest at the mere mention of his name, the mere thought of his existence. Hates that he might have moved on while she wallows in this abhorrent sense of self-pity. It was her decision to break it off, so why does it feel like sheâs paying the price? Her stomach twists at his nonchalance, but sheâd rather die than reveal her annoyance. Now, it feels like a battle of pride.
âYeah.. been a while,â Jihyun concurs, unsure of what else to say. She takes a seat in the empty swing beside him, the tips of her feet barely dragging along the ground. Even at night, the summer humidity clings to her skin, sticky and unforgiving. Thereâs barely a breeze, and even then it does little to relieve anyone. Briefly, she wonders how heâs enduring in his all-black attire, but Sejun has never been one to complain. Not even when itâs uncomfortable to him. Or toxic for that matter. She pulls her face mask down as she resists the urge to look at him; hears the metal chains creak as he swings back and forth, to and fro, but keeps her gaze trained on the river before them, glittering with ripples of yellow, orange, and white.
âWhatâre you doing out here? Insom-â she catches herself before she says anymore. Doesnât know if itâs winning or losing to show her hand: that she still remembers insomnia kept him up at night, knows what grated his bones and made his skin tingle. That she can still picture his boyish grin and the way heâd flush down to his neck when heâd pull away from a kiss.
Did they have to be like this?
Then again, four years is a long time to revert to strangers. It would be surprising - disappointing even - for neither of them to have grown in that span; after all, sheâs developed in so many ways since her debut, physically, mentally, emotionally. Thereâs no way he wouldnât have done the same. To acknowledge that maybe she knows nothing about him anymore feels more terrifying than sheâd initially chocked it up to be. Granted, she hadnât known everything about him either, but it had been enough. He had been enough; sheâd been too much. But now theyâre two totally different people on paths that had long-since unwinded from the otherâs.
Jihyun clears her throat as she mimics his movements, pushing herself back on the swing to gain a bit of momentum. âI havenât been here since I debuted,â she admits, her tone light yet solemn. It was really his spot before it had become theirs. âDidnât feel right coming back without you.â

SKILL BUILDING PROMPT + Detail your character performing at a school festival ( +05 free / +05 exp ) When small talk is neither of their strong suits @haneulid
Honey is due to close the festival soon, as theyâve been doing a lot the past year. Itâs one of the rare times she can truly appreciate their chart standings. A stadium packed with screaming fans is never as great of an indicator as one would imagine - especially at events with multiple acts like tonightâs. An arena lit up in flashes of orange may be completely by chance. But a festivalâs lineup is hard to misconstrue: Honey is at the top of their game.
She understands performing after her seniors is the major indication of their extreme popularity. But as a follower of long-held tradition and hierarchies ( read: not wanting to rock the boat ), she wonders if theyâre allowed to do this: allowed to skip ahead into this level of awareness that veterans have worked literally decades for. Itâs easy to chock their recognition up to media play with girlish concepts and choreographies that are easy to swallow for an entire nation, something suitable for all ages. A fact that also draws an abundance of hate. The nation loves seeing an underdog rise, but loves the fall of the top dog even more.
Itâs only been four years into their debut, but with Honeyâs latest comeback already sweeping the music charts, festival staff members are quick to cater to the groupâs every whim backstage. Itâs suffocating. None of this feels fair to anyone ( but what does anyone care what she feels ). For some reason, the invisible weight feels heavier tonight in their cramped green room, the pressure around her skull increasing still. She needs space and quiet, and uses the excuse of finding the bathroom to seek refuge in her lonesome.
When she pushes open an exit door to a small, open space, she doesnât expect this. The meticulously tousled ash brown hair. Wide shoulders dropped in an unguarded manner. Wafts of hazy smoke billowing above him. Poiznâs Lee Haneul. Careless. Lost. The prime example of a senior outshined by his junior.
The grimace on her face disappears without a trace, replaced by a small âoâ of surprise and a low bow. âSorry, I didnât realize anyone else was here.â Jihyun wearily eyes the cigarette in his hand and maintains her distance, not wanting to get the stench of it embedded in her hair or outfit. The last thing she needs is for rumors of her smoking, but her piercing migraine tells her differently. It drives her to stay outside for the sake of getting away from the hustle and bustle.
One smoker is preferable to a swarm of bodies.
Iâve been saying this for a couple weeks now, but itâs finally here. If there's a point you want to add to the descriptions, don't hesitate to msg me! (Not everyone is up yet pending where we're at in terms of plotting btw.) More plots still to come as I finally begin cementing her presence in dance. In the mean time, open plot bunnies can still be found here. Always down for more threads with whoever wants one despite my turtle pace(':

HONEY SCHEDULE ( JUL07 )
+ With Minions still absurdly popular throughout the country, especially with the kids, the brand is still going strong and has partnered up with Dunkin Donuts â and Honey! With how popular Honey has always been with the kids, it was a no brainer to sign them as the face for this Dunkin Donuts x Minions limited collaboration. First up on the list for this new partnership: shoot a commercial to promote the donuts, complete with a catchy jingle and all! ( +05 skill / +05 exp )
Discomfort prickles at her skin as her stylists finish touching up her hair and makeup. Itâs taken her nearly half a decade to get used to the countless pairs of eyes and hands on her on a regular basis, but this? This is on another level.
This is too much.

and now, back to our regularly scheduled programming...
a story yet unsaid.
ideunbi:
âno, donât wish for that. be glad youâre not withering away in a basement,â she says casually, the expression on her face much more neutral in comparison to a few seconds ago. sheâs not going to sit here and sulk, no way. this isnât the time nor place for that. âbut seriously, going straight to practice after having spent all day in the sun? sheesh. that sucks.â
when the fanning comes to an end, eunbi turns to look at her friend, notes the dispirited look on her face. âhey,â she flicks at the skin of jihyunâs arm, âif you really faceplant, iâm gonna make fun of you for the next five years, so youâd better not.â
Eunbi makes a fair point, but a moot one all the same. Thereâs no sense in arguing for their ( nonexistent ) rights here of all places - itâs much too late for that. So Jihyun allows her the small rant, nodding vigorously in all the right places with her lips pursed together in thought. Itâs too hot to be more angry, too hot to feign displeasure at how wronged theyâve all been. Because sheâs long since accepted that.
âYup, the one and only. You know how this whole fiasco works. The more popular ones get more screen time and usually higher points. Iâd be naive to think they would change and yet look at me, being all hopeful.â She lets out a deep, heavy sigh that runs its course, breathing out the frustration that weighs on her chest. âI put some damn backbone into my performance. But youâre right, at least I did look pretty doing it.â
Jihyun gives Eunbi a sidelong glance at her comment, taking a moment to really observe the older girl. Her tone is light, but an underlying gloom surfaces in her choice of words. Withering. Is that how the Heaven member feels? A flower beginning to wilt? Thereâs sympathy in the younger dancerâs gaze. In the way she slides a hand on her sunbaeâs shoulder, squeezing softly, as a gesture of solidarity. Honey may be at its peak, but that hasnât stopped Jihyun from worrying about the long run. About whatâll happen to the group when they outgrow the bubbly, innocent concepts. Itâs not something she has the capacity to dwell on, so itâs shoved into the depths of her mind, again and again. But all of a sudden, Eunbi has become a striking reminder of those concerns.
So she clears her throat, pretends she hasnât picked up on the tension. âYou know I hate to leave you, but all this talk of face-planting is making me nervous.â Jihyun pats her friendâs knee gently before pushing herself off the ground. Begins stretching her legs in a futile, last-minute effort to elongate her petite 5â4â frame. Yeah, thereâs no way sheâll be able to win. But as with her other event, she can at least make an attempt to look cool while trying. âSo Iâm gonna start getting ready. You better pray for me.â
Sheâll sit down with Eunbi another time. When theyâre not surrounded by cameras and screaming fans in blistering heat. When their heads arenât spinning and the timing is right. âIâll call you laterâ are the last words out of her mouth, her fingers positioned in the shape of a phone as she skips off in the direction of the mats being laid out.
Stars are not small or gentle. They are writhing and dying and burning. They are not here to be pretty. I am trying to learn from them.

idmina:
······Itâs difficult to disclose when this began, or if thereâs an endpoint, in fact, itâs difficult to pinpoint anything in their tense engagements with one chasing after the other with a possible innocent intent. Mina doesnât wish to stick around to find out what Jihyun wants, sheâs easily paranoid, quick to flee, and an avoidant personality that hates confrontation and anything tied into itâs berating swing. Startled and horrified (she does the best she can to mask this, though itâs probably too late for that at this point), Mina blinks at the taller woman towering over her small figure as she peers upwards in a dreaded surprise.·âO-Oh, Jihyun-ssi, uhm- yes! Iâm participating in archery,â she nervously laughs, already beginning to step away with the excuse of looking for someone as her gaze shifts across the sea of people before her.·âDonât know how good Iâll though, guess weâll find out?â For someone plagued with uncertainty, she was doing a better job than anticipated.
Jihyun canât help the frown that lingers when she hears the honorific attached to her name. Canât begin to fathom why Mina hasnât been able to drop it despite years of training under the same roof. Theyâve both made a home out of MSG. Labelmates are supposed to be family. But much to her chagrin, sheâs finding it far more difficult than sheâd ever imagined for that semblance to be true. As is the case with both Cherry Bomb! and Galaxy. She briefly wonders if perhaps sheâs the outlier - an outcast despite her best efforts. But none of this makes sense with Mina. As far as the Honey dancer is concerned, sheâs never been rude towards the vocalist ( aside from this run-in perhaps, but still a complete accident ) nor has given any reason for the girl to be so skittish around her. She just wants one healthy friendship with someone in Cherry Bomb!. Perhaps itâs too much to ask of the small girl before her.
Jihyunâs gaze follows Minaâs out to the crowd before she remembers her staff members who wait patiently behind her, talking between themselves. A quick smile and wave of her hand relieves them of their duty to follow her, and they head back to where the majority of the pink teamâs stylists sit. It leaves the two of them as alone as two girls in a field of people could be. But Jihyunâs determined to make the most of this chance. Besides, maybe sheâs not nervous because of her - sheâs nervous because of the upcoming event.
âDonât be so modest. It canât be helped that Iâll be rooting for my team, but Iâm sure youâll do well. You have the form down. You just have to own it!â Thereâs no real strategy she can supply, no tips to help her junior feel less nervous about the whole thing. Jihyunâs embarrassing lack of hand-eye coordination skills would make her a poor candidate for archery, and sheâs silently glad sheâs not competing in it. Perhaps Mina will have better luck and certainly better skill. She must have been chosen for a reason after all. âIf you get nervous, youâre just going to psych yourself out. So donât worry and just have fun with it.â All this is advice that Minaâs likely very familiar with given her stage performances, but itâs a kind reminder nevertheless and an effort to showcase just that: her kindness.
â SPARE ME
idnamjoon:
and here comes another person whoâd understand his monetary predicament. itâs no secret that both jihyun and namjoon are working for their families as their main reason. itâs funny how the two of them share so much things in common. how they crave to be the centre of attention not because theyâre attention-seekers, just because itâll get them more exposure and opportunities.
âwell,, this place is the only one that the organisers bother to put an aircon in. actually, itâs a surprise that the crowd isnât that large,â he says, all while returning the bow she gave him. ânobody. i just told them i want to be here because two atlas members are competing. how did you get in here?â
âYou give the organizers far too much credit if you think they were the ones who put the a/c unit in here.â Her hotheadedness may be fading with the cool air, but the resentment against event staff still remains. Sharp, biting. Dismissive. It warrants an impatience that is highly uncharacteristic of the girl usually so in tune with her emotions. In constant control. Who did they think they were? Wasting everyoneâs time like this. Putting the lot of stressed-out, restless, hormonal boys and girls in a single pen like guinea pigs and expecting everyone to get along ( or not ). The mere thought makes her blood boil again, fueling an anger even the blasting air conditioning cannot quite remedy.
Her anger, however, is temporarily interrupted by confusion. Jihyun shoots Namjoon a puzzled look before she realizes he misheard her question. Sheâs pretty certain anyoneâs allowed in here to watch. Then again, she did strut in like she belonged in the room, daring with a gracious smile for anyone to deny her entry. No one had bothered to stop her ( let alone give her a second glance ).
But the roomâs beginning to quiet down with the preparation of the bowlers and she lowers her voice to a whisper. âAh, I meant bribing someone to get on the team. Being in Yohan and Jaekyuâs position, yâknow. All the bowlers get to sit in here longer than anyone else, out of Satanâs asscrack and in perfect, icy bliss.â
Okay, so perhaps the malice will permanently be there, but sheâs completely aware of the potential to be caught on camera as they begin rolling, and schools her features into a pleasant one. Not a single trace of fury to be detected despite the hushed words shared with Namjoon. If thereâs one thing sheâs confident about, itâs not getting in trouble because trouble is the first stepping stone to a potential paycheck cut. And sheâd never risk that.
Even if it looks like she has all the time in the world standing around to watch people she decidedly does not care all that much about, she doesnât have that luxury. In fact, Jihyun feels like sheâs constantly running out of time. The pressure sheâs put on herself to be her familyâs breadwinner at her age is daunting. An expectation that both drives and hinders her. An expectation that Namjoon also feels, if she recalls correctly.
Remembering this has her relaxing considerably as she asks him in a much softer tone: âHowâd you do in your events?â
a story yet unsaid.
ideunbi:
when jihyun asks if sheâs free, she nods, almost scoffs. âiâm always free,â she says in response, and itâs supposed to be something of a joke, but thereâs an underlying bitterness that drips from each of the three words. heavenâs schedules are a joke when the group isnât actively promoting, and while eunbi generally enjoys what she does during her free time, she worries (weeps) about the future of her career. she isnât like the rest of her members. canât sing as well yena or sunjung, canât rap or act the way sooyeon does. her opportunities for solo projects are limited, and without heaven, she wonders if thereâs any place for her in the industry at all.
eunbiâs eyes close for a moment, appreciation for jihyun exuding from every single inch of her as she revels in the fan and the touch of cool air it provides. âare you free tonight? we can go out, if youâre up for it.â
Jihyun allows Eunbi to examine her face ( her lower lip jutting out in a small pout ) before swatting the elderâs fingers away and pulling back with a mild scowl at the thought of faceplanting on the mat. âIâll be careful, but youâre the one who spoke it into existence, not me. Now itâs on you when it actually happens.â She emphasizes âactuallyâ but thereâs zero ill will in her tone, exhibited in the way her scowl quickly vanishes and is replaced by the same facetious grin.
Despite pretending not to care about the athletic championships, Jihyun knows every opportunity counts. She hates herself for wanting to succeed ( read: not embarrass herself ). The events are another opportune moment to showcase any aspect of her - as long as something goes viral, ideally something good. Any of her performances, her fanservice, her interactions, Just. Something.
All things considered, everyone knows there is no such thing as bad publicity. Because publicity gets deals. Until now, sheâs been solely relying on Honey to get her above water. And sheâs fed up with waiting. So she gave her gymnastics routine her all because itâs something she can do for herself. Hopefully, itâs enough.
âIt was.. too much effort for something so short honestly. I was mostly concerned with getting a baton to the face. Iâm pretty sure Iâve already lost to the âitâ girl anyway.â The shrug that follows is routine; a habit sheâs picked up since her debut days to help accept the fact of the matter. To squash the self-doubt that comes with every pushback. She looks like a bitch. Shrug. Sheâs constantly being overshadowed by her members. Shrug. Sheâll never be the popular one. Shrug.
She wonders if her unnie understands. But Eunbi has an untouchable group to back her up; a wall that canât be overcome. Still, Jihyun has never mustered the courage to ask. Only admire.
For a second, she glances around for Ryu Sungki. Debates hunting him down to join this conversation. To convince her she can sneak out with the two people she trusts like family, and drink away this miserable day. Instead, her mind wins over her heart, and she lets the realist side of her do the talking. âI wish,â the dancer deflates visibly, gazing back out to the hustle and bustle of people. âWeâre preparing for our comeback this month, so Iâm going back to practice after this. Honestly, this whole thing feels like Iâm in a dream, yet Iâm not resting. Itâs like when you donât sleep well and everythingâs just⊠shitty.â
She stops fanning. The more she thinks, the more her expression darkens. âGreat. Now Iâm really going to faceplant.â

HOODY (íë) - Like You
â loose cannon
Idol Star Athletics Championships feat. @idmina ( +05 exp / +05 skill )
She heads for the changing room after her baton gymnastics routine with her hair still slicked back in a tight bun and her dark makeup still set on her visage. Two of Honeyâs stylists follow her in, the trio giggling lightheartedly about utter nonsense as though Jihyun didnât just perform solo for an entire stadium crowd and fucking nail it. Now, just the high jump remains ( for which she has zero expectations ) and she can check out of this godforsaken event until next year.
But seconds in the room turn to minutes, and one minute turns to twenty when the loudspeakers blast an announcement signaling the imminent start of the next event: archery. The one event Shin Jihyun is actually interested in watching.
Without much more delay, the main dancer, flanked by her two staff members, hurries out to rejoin the gaggle of pink. Her eyes are trained over her shoulder, however, as she continues chit-chatting with her staff when all of a sudden, she sees one of the girlsâ eyes widen.
And two bodies collide not a second later. Itâs not a forceful impact given the major lack of speed between the two labelmates, but itâs still enough to surprise a girl whoâs normally so used to paying attention to her surroundings.
âShoot, Iâm so sor- oh, Bae Mina!â Given Jihyunâs less-than-friendly standing with half of her sister groupâs members, the lack of their paths crossing would be a blessing in disguise. Yet, even if their interactions have always been rather sparse, sheâs known Mina since their trainee days and it would be unfair to sentence an innocent girl to the same cold-shoulder treatment when itâs not warranted. After all, CherryBomb!âs main vocalist is something else altogether. The definition of cherubic. Incapable of hurting a fly. A wholesome soul in an industry that aims to desecrate the meek and helpless.
Her startled expression melts into a wide grin upon recognition. She knows sheâs in no position to greet her labelmate in such a friendly manner after her misstep, especially when theyâre practically strangers ( through no oneâs fault but their alternating schedules ). But she makes it a point to look pleasantly apologetic. âSorry, I shouldâve been more careful.â She struggles to fill the awkward pause, racking her brain for anything of substance. âYouâre competing in archery, right? I saw you practice earlier, but you made it look so easy.â
