Pretty sure Souma’s mom is a down to earth woman that’s ordinary cause it wouldn’t make sense if Jou was dragged into the elite culinary world once again if he married someone similar to Bookmaster’s position.The resemblance between Azami and Mana parallels Soma and Erina’s relationship but I’m predicting the relationship between Jou and his wife will parallel Soma and Megumi

A critical view of SnS: a touch of romance

this is more of a draft than anything….still.

Shipping in Shounen manga tends can be categorized into two main categories:

1) panel placement and a knowledge of general shounen plot point.

The first boy introduced is the protagonist/hero. The first girl introduced is the main female protagonist/heroine. They will have a romance.

It’s basic and gets repeated a lot.

Think of it as a template, if you will. Most shounen manga writers struggle with writing romance (they’re super open about admitting this), so this is a very easy way to go about it. They know the fandom will take it from there.

2)  There’s a mathematical formula: (The Hero/ protagonist) + ( your favourite girl) = OTP

If you’re cynical about romance in Shounen manga, then the formula can be adjusted to get more-or-less the same result.

(The Hero/Protagonist) + (Your favourite female archetype [Tsundere, Moe, Yandere, etc.] ) = OTP
