HONEY MOON ENTERTAINMENT & THE SUNLIGHT SISTERS.
Honey Moon Entertainment ( often abbreviated to HonMoon Ent. ) is a South Korean based entertainment company established in the early to mid 1990s. While having existed in a smaller form beforehand , and primarily being home to trot singers , HonMoon Ent. very quickly established itself as one of the dominating agencies within the idol landscape.
The first group that debuted on this company was a Girl Group Trio known as the Sunlight Sisters, with the concept of members being able to graduate and be replaced by new members as time went on ( a system commonly used within the Japanese Idol Industry ) , allowing for the members to come and go as their personal lives needed. The original trio consisted of three established musical actresses who wanted to explore the option of releasing their own unique music. They debuted in 1995, just a few years before the girl group S.E.S , making them the first official kpop girl group.
With the rousing success of Sunlight Sister's debut , the company opened it's doors to take in trainees and begin training the next generation of Sunlight Sisters , as well as preparing to debut a brother group along side them. All groups and trainee's that came out of HonMoon Entertainment were considered some of the best that the industry had to offer , allowing them to quickly established themselves as one of the major idol companies within Korea , sitting amongst the ranks of giants like SM & JYP Entertainment ( and eventually , Hybe Labels ). While they focused on their groups , they always gave special attention to the Sunlight Sisters as their flagship group , alongside training the new members who would come and go.
Despite the goal to have the group carry on through all generations of Kpop, the Sunlight Sisters had only gone through a total of two lineups, as due to the passing of popular member Miyeong during a hiatus to have her daughter , the company decided that out of respect they would retire the Sunlight Sisters as a group , and would debut their next flagship group at a later date. There existed a handful of groups between the Sunlight Sister's disbandment and the future debut of Huntrix , but none had managed to reach the level of success these two groups would achieve.
