One corner of her lip was upturned in a smirk, as blue eyes inspect the ears on the other woman’s head. Her hand knew no boundaries, grabbing the appendages. Leaning down, pulling Sellen along with her — now they were at eye level.
"Tick, tock. Tick, tock. Something tells me the prey is about to cry."
She gestured with her free hand, towards Sellen. Awaiting the pathetic scene she hoped would unfold. "Hurry. You’ll mess up my schedule."
The sudden contact was enough to startle the little rabbit, and as a result, salty tears pricked at her panicked eyes. Her ears twitched against the grip of the other seemingly rabbit like woman, protesting their freedom. But alas, Sellen was not prepared, and so..
"L-Let go of me-" She pleaded, bottom lip trembling as her tears spilled over despite her efforts. "W-What is it you want if-if this would.. sniffle.. mess up your-"
Her sentence was disrupted by a soft little whimper, unable to contain herself. This was a stranger, after all, handling her like some uprooted turnip.
"Poor little thing can hardly think straight." Her sentence was followed by a chuckle that formed into a laugh, finally she paused. Examining Sellen once more. When she heard the other woman’s whimper, mercy came. The hand loosened. Lorina pulled back.
White Rabbit pulled her trick umbrella — her weapon of choice — from the holster on her belt. Now twirling the handle in her hand as if it were a baton. Finally, she rested the tip just under Sellen’s chin. Mercy didn’t last long.
"Would you like to see a magic trick, or are you going to give all your expensive belongings to me?" Lorina spoke, then she added "We can make this easy."
"Magic-?" The word practically fell from the little rabbits mouth like a heavy brick, her mind working overtime to figure out if this women meant real magic, or pretend, street magic.
There was a difference, that was important. Zatanna had made sure Sellen understood this.
As her watery blue eyes dropped to the tip of the umbrella, followed by a very noticeable gulp, the little rabbit attempted a sort of.. connection. Raw strength certainly wouldn't save her here, she didn't have much strength to be raw - and as for her valuables.. what exactly was valuable to a rabbit?
"What.. w-what sort of magic?" Her gaze flickered up, chancing a glance at the other woman, despite the danger she was in. "D-Do you know proper magic?"
A cruel hyena-like cackle escaped Lorina at the question. She just shook her head. With a flick of her wrist, her umbrella tip suddenly unsheathed the metal blade at the end. Pulling it away from the other rabbit’s chin, and resting the weapon against her own shoulder.
"You’re far too timid for my special trick. Perhaps I feel a little bad for you." Now resting the weight of the umbrella on her shoulder, she decided to stroll around the room with pride. Humming.. as if nothing had happened.
It seemed that maybe Lorina did have a bit of.. empathy within herself all along. Of course, that was thrown out the window by what she said next. "Keeping you alive longer will make our little game much more entertaining."
Standing up properly, smoothing down her outfit, Sellen's nose twitched uncomfortably as the woman wandered around the room. Something about the other rabbit shaped woman unsettled her greatly, leaving a nasty feeling pit in her stomach.
"Well, I- um.. thank you for l-letting me live.." The little rabbit managed, keeping her eyes on the woman out of pure fear. She was unpredictable, clearly, and Sellen was most certainly not a fan of that.
"Do you.." her ears twitched, begging her not to ask, but of course she had to anyway, "..have a name?"

"A rabbit who learned to stand upright. Curious. Does the Magician pull your strings for you?"
"What? N-no, I-"
The little rabbit shook her head firmly, eyes cast toward the ground in a moment of sudden self-consciousness. Questions like this were most certainly not her favourite.
"I'm a living being, th-thank you very much.. Not some puppet. Mistress hates pupp-"
Her sentence was stopped short by the realisation she may have given away something rather important. Whoever had thought rabbits were a symbol of luck had definitely not met Sellen.
The assassin leaned in, eyes zoning in on the pair that would not make contact with her own. Narrowing, studying her further. Those same eyes flicked down to the rabbit’s body. A subtle tilt of her head, and Elektra pulled back.
"You must speak with more caution." Arms crossing over her chest, in much contrast to the rabbit.
A feeling that wasn’t unusual to her — but was not welcomed often — washing over, and softening her features. "Careful, little bunny. I’m sure your mistress doesn’t want you spilling those things to strangers."
Sellen nodded slightly, noting the hint of softness that had crept into the other woman's tone. She didn't look up, she didn't have to, the weight of the assassin's stare said all that it needed to.
With a slight twitch of her ears, the rabbit mustered the courage to respond, taking the advice given to her and being careful with her words.
"You're right, yes, I- you didn't hear that." Finally, for the first time during their conversation, Sellen's eyes met the assassins. With a smile - albeit, not a very convincing one - the little rabbit tried again. "I'm not a puppet, not at all. I'm a rabbit, and I have a name."

"Woah woah woah there!! Appreciate the gesture but-" Sellen motions vaguely towards the sandwich, trying her best to not look at it, despite very much wanting to. "Can't eat that-"
Oh. .. uh... hm... I got some carrots not much else sorry..
"You- you don't have to give me anything. You know that, right? I mean we're strangers and- what if I was evil? Or.. or what if the food you're giving me is poison?"
I don't poison people, as long as you don't work for the joker or the penguin we are friends!
"Oh, no no, not me-" The rabbit shook her head firmly, a pout settling on her face at the god awful thought. "So- it's nice to meet you, um.. friend?"
Nice to meet you to!! What's your name? Mine is Carrie!
"Sellen- My name is Sellen."

ooc. Sellen absolutely does still stomp her peets when she's irritated. it takes a lot to get to that stage, but she hasn't yet mastered the art of talking about her feelings.
ooc. what's Sellen doing for valentine's day, I hear you ask.. well you see- my girl has a date with The Salad Bowl™️ and god awful romance movies on Netflix. Zatanna's trying very hard to find one the little rabbit enjoys.. it's not going so well..
ooc. happy valentine's <3

For many years of her life, Sellen lived as one of Zatanna's show rabbits, accompanying the magician on her many tours, sharing the stage to bring joy to the masses. It was a good life - she was kept well fed, was groomed and cared for, and seeing the smiles of the crowds was always a highlight.
Zatanna herself was a kind mistress, always giving extra love whenever she could. But even the great mistress of magic had her troubles. On a particularly lonely night, when the darkness had crept in and the doubt had sunk itself into her mind, Zatanna's plea for companionship took hold in the form of a spell that granted her little show rabbit a human form.
Learning how to be human was.. complicated. All the talking, the social cues, the awkwardly shaped limbs.. Sellen struggled through it all, praying that it would get easier. And eventually, it did. The moving part, at least. Zatanna had allowed for the little rabbit to train in physical combat - and what a joy that was. Though her upper strength still needed work, the strength in her legs was a forced to be reckoned with. For a rabbit turned human, of course. Talking still felt like a chore and socialising just wasn't for her. So the mistress of magic came up with a solution:
A masked persona.
The little rabbit would still be able to grace the stage, but this time, without fear of judgement. And with the new combat training? Sellen could finally see what life off stage was really like for the great Zatanna Zatara..
