The progress of creating flying lanterns by using particular and compositing videos in Adobe After Effect

In this stage, Yicun has rendered the video of firework effect. What I am going to do is shown as below:

Graphic Design of Monster Nian

In Chinese legend story, Nian is sourced to be the evil monster with horn and tooth decay who normally lives under the sea, only appears to the ground at the date of Spring Festival. On that day, Nian will eat people. To fight with this monster, Chinese ancients invented bomb and fireworks to scare the monster, which saves people’s live. 

So when I design this monster, I referred the image of the combination of lion and dragon’s body, which represent power and fierce in Chinese culture. And also I added a long sharp horn and scales on its body which is related to the underwater legend.

I drew it in Procreate on iPad and edit the lines in Adobe Illustrator.

This effect is made by Adobe After Effect with particular effect supported by Red Giant.

Finally, I used Adobe After Effect to combine three videos together.

Session 2 - teamwork in class

In today’s class, we had an experiment which is to see how many pieces can we make with on paper in a short time.

Our group misunderstood the purpose of this competition actually, so we only made one piece, a piece of heart.

Unfortunately we failed in the last group task. We are a fast group, because each of us takes the group task seriously. I don't think this failure means that we are not a good team, and that doesn't stop us from moving forward. It will encourage us all the time. Of course, I also wonder why other groups succeed but we don't. I have to admit that we really didn't come up with a good plan. But we will learn from this failure. After the initial running-in of our group, that is, after the first group meeting, we were very excited about the following projects. We are very confident to do a good job in this task.

week 2

This week's course requires us to make a box to protect the eggs from falling from the heights. In the beginning, our opinions were different. Some people think that we should make a box. Others think that we should put as much paper as possible. Wrap around the outside of the egg. This will protect the eggs very well, and we decided to combine them with two ideas after we discussed them. Although we failed in the end, I had more communication with my classmates in this class, which made me familiar with my team members. I think cooperation is very important. Combining the ideas of others to perfect your own ideas is the most important point.

I am very fortunate to work with my team members. Everyone has different ideas, which makes me realize the importance of cooperation. From the idea to the final division of labor cooperation. This process is wonderful and worth remembering.

The first idea of our project. From the begging, we want to show the history of our university, but the problem is this logo is not we designed, and we can not show the story.Besides, the content of this idea is not enough.  So, we completely changed our idea.
