All other Muppet media is about a troupe of actors who meet on a road trip, start on a small vaudeville variety type show, and gradually make it big. This narrative carries into talk show interviews, news clips, and the 2010s Muppet revival. The narrative treats them as real people and they have the status of beloved aging celebrities.
