The tags on your post here* pinged my angst o’meter and I imagined Steve, being HYPER aware of Tony once he joins them at the compound, noticing the issues Tony now has, the tremors or maybe a limp here and there. And Steve hates to pry and ask more of Tony but he SHOULD know everything before such an important mission…

Or maybe Steve getting excited the Team is back together and maybe running some drills, and trying very gently to get Tony to join in. And I imagine Tony gently demurs at first but he eventually has to maybe disclose he can’t really do that anymore, he’s stopped making any drastic improvements or adjustments to the Suit because he doesn’t have it in him to practice with it very much.

No more faster better stronger, just more efficient, more ergonomic, etc. No more specialty suits, just an all around one that can do most things

YAssssss, that's totally how I feel about the last nanotech suit, which can form way more complex things but also is built mainly to be a stronger overall shield plus compensate for Tony's reduced core strength and so on.

And you know that Steve knows how serious it is when Tony explains all of that simply and adds, "What can you do, not all of us have the serum" and he sounds wistful instead of sarcastic.🥲

It’s vry important to me that Tony was a soft kid. Like that comic from the 90s that had flashbacks to his childhood where Howard would go from giving a brief bit of praise to Tony for being good at monopoly during what looks like an attempt at some sort of family bonding time and then wanting to squash Tony’s ‘sensitive’ personality by sending him to boarding school bc tony wasn’t interested in playing rough with other boys, he wanted to read and probably just tinker with things. N how Tony would use his free time at school to read alone outside. And specifically Arthurian books. Tony enjoys fiction and fantasy and is an Arthurian nerd. N he was also very polite. Probably just a soft spoken kid with a big imagination and a special interest with planes n cars.

On July 20, 1969, 109 hours and 42 minutes after launch, Neil Armstrong and Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin entered the lunar lander ‘Eagle’, made a final check, and the Eagle undocked from the lunar orbiter ‘Columbia’, where the third member of the crew Michael Collins, stayed in orbit around the moon. Partially manually piloted by Armstrong, the Eagle landed 0 degrees, 41 minutes, 15 seconds north moon latitude and 23 degrees, 26 minutes east moon longitude. Armstrong stepped out, and Aldrin followed 20 minutes later: human beings stepped on the moon for the first time. The two men spent 21 hours and 26 minutes on its surface. One of the astounding aspects of the mission was the seeming simplicity of the technology used to get man to the moon. According to Oliver Gassmann, professor of Technology Management, the mobile phone in your pocket has one million times more memory than the Apollo 11’s computer. Same about the procesor: the latest phones typically have more than 100,000 times the processing power of the computer that landed man on the moon 50 years ago.

when a nuke is sent for nyc, fury doesn’t comm the avengers. he singled out tony stark; told him, not the team. fury knew tony would immediately have a solution, one that he would execute without asking. that’s how tony worked. and fury knew that.
