Damian Foxe / How To Spend It June 2012.
Do yourself a favor and watch this right now.
“Actually, why don’t you let this little old lady go first,” I said to the barista.
“I’m forty,” said the little old lady.
“Well I guess you just have that angry old lady face,” I said with a cheerful grin. “It’s like when old people are just so exhausted by life that the default position of their face sort of turns into that permanent scowly face. You know?”
But she was done listening.
After I got my coffee, a woman and her young son approached me.
“It was really nice of you to let that woman go first,” she said.
“Oh I’m no hero!”
“I try to teach my son here about those kinds of manners.”
I laughed and looked at the young boy.
“Take my word for it, young friend. You do nice things for other people and nice things happen to you.”
I smiled again and took a sip of my coffee. But the lid popped off and the scalding hot beverage splashed against my face and chest.
I screamed. “ARRRRRRGGHHHH…..FUCK! FUCKING SHIT! OW!”
The boy and his mom recoiled in horror. It was still burning. I ran to the center of the mall and dove headfirst into the wishing well. SPLASH!
When I emerged, there were pennies stuck to my boiled skin. I opened my eyes and saw a wall of wide-eyed children.
“I’ve stolen your wishes!” I screamed. “And I’m taking them to hell with me!”
I ran out of the well and into the parking lot, where a minivan ran me over.
“Does this mean my wish won’t come true?” a young boy asked his mother.
She sighed and reached into her purse. “I don’t know. Probably not. Here. You might want to toss another one in there, just in case.”
The young boy tried again, but his wish didn’t come true. However, to be fair, it was a stupid, implausible wish. A live dog that’s also a skateboard? Come on, man. You think the weight won’t be hard on his back?
THE END.
Day 7: Four Songs That Describe Your Life Right Now
1. "Rihanna - Love the way you Lie" because one time I tied someone to a bed and they were like, "Let me go!" and I was like, "That's not the safe word!" and they were like, "What are you doing with those matches?" and I was all, "You'll see! (insert giggles)", and then they were like, "No seriously, what are you doing??" and then I lit the bed on fire and ran away.
2. "Toybox - Tarzan and Jane" "Go cheetah, get banana, hey monkey, get funky!"
3. "Toybox - Super-duper Man" "I can see my house from here Yeh, Let's party hardy over there Can I touch your ding-a-ling You make superman go super schwing."
4. "R. Kelly - Sex Planet" "Girl I promise this will be painless (painless) We'll take a trip to planet Uranus."
Day 10: One Quote That Describes Your Life Right Now
"... your shadow, the dark side. C.G. Hume writes about it, in terms of the fact that every one of us has a dark side. And my dark side, my shadow, my lower companion is now in the back room blowing up balloons for kids' parties." - Gary Busey
HAHA! oh my gosh, your tiger story made me laugh out loud, thanks for that <3 so then I decided 'oh I'll message you and tell you that' then I see your ask button thinger, and it says, 'ask me about mozzarella sticks and unicorns' so now, you have made my night :P
This is a much better response than what I normally get, which consists of blank stares and heads exploding. I'm pleased that my nonsense (and by nonsense I mean my true life experiences) have brought you joy.
Now, I must get back to making dinner.
I want everybody who knew me before 2007 to die.

The Magnetic Fields — I Don’t Want to Get Over You
Favorite Magnetic Fields song.
Need This. Want This. Gotta' Have This Now.
The frequency of synchronous events appears to grow when synchronicity is acknowledged and internalized. As we begin to see even those which would seem insignificant, yet still meaningful, it leaves an impression and directs our focus on such accounts, causing them to take place more often and sometimes with greater speed. For instance when a number of synchronous experiences have been witnessed, the likelihood of thinking of someone, and having them be there when you look up would be greater than had you no experience or acknowledgement of the principle. Synchronicity can be found more readily in nature. As most know birds fly in patterns, they do this perfectly in line, with no leader of the flock, and can change pattern without a hitch. The effect of the moon on the tides and certain monthly female patterns also indicates A form of synchronicity. Though this may be more fully explainable, and not as psychologically related, it still displays the great simultaneity that occurs in the universe or the the very least the world at large Jung also had a theory called the collective unconscious, basically a distilled memory of humans from primitive times to the present, which may communicate to us through dreams, visions and synchronicity. Jung’s famous concept of archetypes is connected to this theory. He refers to them as “psychoid factors” in the collective unconscious. That they were not physical, and not mental, but manifest simultaneously on both planes. On another side of this theory, the term may have synonyms which were unfamiliar to the general public in Jung’s day. In some schools of thought, cosmic ordering, magical thinking, or in common parlance known as, the law of attraction, may be a synonym for this theory. As synchronicity may occur in an unintentional manner, by us changing our thoughts, it may also be harnessed for specific or not so specific outcomes. Though the meaningfulness of this is of course subject to judgement by the thinker and open to interpretation. Some say synchronicity is not a question of cause and effect, but of a joining together in time, or simultaneity. Just as in mathematics, a coincidence is two angles that match up perfectly. Wilhelm von scholz commenting on his collection of stories showing the strange way in which lost or stolen items return to their owners comes to the conclusion that everything points to “the mutual attraction of related objects.” Jung founded this theory in attempts to incorporate findings of ESP and psychic phenomena. In regards to this I would like to bring up Professor Rupert Sheldrake, who in is book, The science of being stared it, attempts to analyze the phenomena of incidents where when others are looking at an individual, that person can feel it. He suggests that this form of intuition and telepathy may have some kind of invisible, causal influence. We may also look at the occurrence of Precognitive dreams, which, by definition are a very strong example of synchronicity in action. One may Have a dream of a future event, and only as this even begins to unfold, recall the dream, thereby having an identical link between what is occurring in the realm of thought and memory, and what is taking place physical in front of them. Precognition may also explain what we call “Deja Vu”. As the individual recalls the dream in real time, though they may not remember that it was in fact a dream, they may still get a great feeling of strange uncanny familiarity. In conclusion, though there is much to be done on the subject and theory of synchronicity, there is one thing proven; Which is that mental activity perceived by an individual can, simultaneously, be also represented by an event outside the self. Also that although chance leaves many questions to be desired, It is not always an acceptable explanation for events interconnected in such a significant way. First was the theory of correspondence, and then causality, and now, of this phenomena, synchronicity is the most current curiousity of this nature, based not on philosophy but evidence and experimentation.
