oh it is definitely not im genuine. i am fully aware that the series is on the younger end of YA and so ms. collins meets the audience where they’re at. love and admire her clear commitment to using her books to teach middle schoolers introductory political theory i think that’s something that should really really be accessible to kids.

oh how i loooove this broken rhyme. it's one of my favourite queer instances in her lyrics. so loud and obvious in a closeted way.

it's especially fascinating if you think about it in a sense that... she misses the muse (like in "yearn" or "pine") but by using "you" instead of more fitting pronoun "her" she also MISSES the muse (like in "skip" or "omit"). like something is missing, and it's both the muse in narrator's life AND the rhyming pronoun. she misses HER. in every sense of the word, behind and inside the text.

something about hiding queer experiences behind the wall of acceptable language. i just think it's extremely witty in terms of poetry.
