UNDERTALE: PROJECT FORTUNE MASTERPOST
(I literally don’t know how to make a masterpost please bear with me) (updates regularly)
WHAT IS UPF?
UPF is a what-if scenario where alongside LOVE and EXP, two extra mechanics have been added to the code: GP and WINRATE, directly influencing greed alongside LOVE and EXP’s (I think) influence over…idk wrath or numbness I guess
DUDE GIVE ME A BETTER BACKSTORY AT LEAST
Okok so, after monsters had been sealed underground, they discovered GP and WINRATE as something that affects monster souls and can spike during intense situations or also risky/thrill encounters. Too high of them can destroy their souls, so they must keep it in check.
GP stands for GOLD POINT (…actually, GREED POINT) while WINRATE stands for WANT INDUCED NEGLIGENCE RATE.
GP does not necessarily mean you are stronger, but it is the points you earn for every risk you take, influencing your RK bar (recklessness). WINRATE however can directly influence your ATK, DEF, and HP.
The barrier also reacts to heightened emotions, so the more GP they produce, the higher the possibility that the barrier will crumble, as such, monsters decide to center the underground around the two soul gauges
That’s how the Las Vegas-esque underground came to be.
Of course, they needed overlords. Out of the underground, there are 4 aces. Aces have extremely high GP and WINRATE that can spill over the threshold but have resisted the temptation or are able to properly regulate it without destroying themselves. They also usually preside over a building or district in the underground.
When the first human fell underground, asgore found something quite interesting, humans can increase GP and WINRATE higher and quicker than an average monster, and they can also keep it super high without lowering it, ever.
So, the entire underground slowly shifts from slowly producing GP and WINRATE to extorting any fallen humans of their GP and WINRATE.
The first 6 ish humans were unsuccessful, as they were mostly children, and mostly just played on arcade machines, which didn’t gather that much.
However, a human bearing the soul of DETERMINATION fell into the underground, and the story starts there.
MAIN CHARACTER CAST
No art btw I’m kinda…drawing those rn
Also there will be a masterpost for the main characters…hopefully
FRISK (THEY/THEM)
Frisk is aged up slightly here, being approximately 14-15 because if they’re a kid all they’ll go on is arcade machines and I can’t have that I need my money generator
Their actions directly influence GP and WINRATE, with DETERMINATION also playing a part of it.
SANS (HE/HIM)
If we use the omega timeline or utmv version, he is dubbed as “fort”
Sans is one of the 4 aces alongside asgore, toriel, and Undyne, bearing the ACE OF CLUBS, formerly he was the Jack of clubs
He initially didn’t want to be an ace, but asgore needed an ace that seemed harmless and can lie low in case a human was smart enough to deduce what was going on, as the other 3 aces already looked like formidable foes, and sans was unfortunately a perfect match for the description, being at a higher GP threshold than the remaining jacks. While he said that he’d make the descision of becoming an ace later, the system had already forcibly overrode his ranking and spiked his GP and WINRATE higher than his max, cracking a bit of his face in the process.
Currently, he is the manager of FALLING ACES CASINO, though he often says he co-manages with his brother. He’s still pretty laid back and still a slacker, but is more easily alert or careless due to his overflowing gauge
The casino, as tasked by asgore, is mostly going to focus on luring humans into abusing their GP and WINRATE in order to generate more for the barrier, and he is tasked with making sure the human stays for as long as possible. He reluctantly accepts
PAPYRUS (HE/HIM)
If we use the omega timeline or utmv version, he is dubbed as “fluke”
Papyrus is the king of diamonds, with asgore seeing great potential at his stable GP and mannerisms despite such a high level (not as high as an ace, but is still impressive)
Due to sans’s overflowing GP, he can become pretty much chasing after money or opportunities without a second thought. Papyrus manages to hold him back long enough to think
Of course, that doesn’t mean papyrus is just sans’s double-checker guy. Since his GP isn’t as high, he fails to see great opportunities that could occur within a small chance, so sans helps him out there. It’s basically yin-yang
Sans never told papyrus he was an ace, but judging from his mannerisms and also the meeting, papyrus figured it out pretty quickly cus DUHH WHO WOULDNT
Papyrus is not stupid, but is naive. The casino, as tasked by asgore, is mostly going to focus on luring humans into abusing their GP and WINRATE in order to generate more for the barrier, and he is tasked with keeping the human inside and getting them addicted. He gladly accepts, believing it to be a good cause
ASGORE (HE/THEY)
The Ace of spades or “manager” of the underground, with the highest GP, alongside a high yet stable WINRATE
He had not expected sans to reject the offer to become an ace, and didn’t expect the system to overload him all at once.
He still had yet to reach out to sans after the incedent, and he sure as hell didn’t tell toriel about it
OK BUT WHY DO I FEEL LIKE THE SKELEBROS ARE THE BAD GUYS HERE
You aren’t wrong, but then wouldn’t frisk also be a villain? sans, papyrus, and frisk aren’t really 100% evil mfs or 100% saints, sans and papyrus do manage a business that takes advantage of a human’s greed and desperation, while frisk pushed to the point of desperation begins taking out their anger on everyone around them. Baaaasically everyone’s got a bit of good n bad to them
Yes I suck at writing lore my whole point is they are literally all greedy and selfish they believe they’re all doing good things even if it’s at the expense of others that’s why the whole AU is themed around GREED
CONTENT/COMIC?
Working on this gang give me a second 💔
GIVE ME A DOPE ASS QUOTE FOR THE ENDING
