I have to imagine that the answer is money. A lot of black woman owned hair companies start out of the garage and they use all natural ingredients and charge accordingly. I think when these big companies take over they look for a way to maximize profit while minimizing cost and they do that by using cheap,easily manufacturable ingredients as opposed to the more expensive options
