She knew Alice in Wonderland was a story from Earth, presumed fictional, but she knew better than to think that meant there was definitely no such place. "Oh, we're all stories in the end," River remarked lightly, "But of course they're real. It's a terribly big universe, you know." She considered his next statement a moment, interested, "I can't say I've ever heard of a walker, though. What are they and why were you fighting them?"

"Already told me there's something, isn't that a spoiler?" he asked, which he knew was just being pedantic, but it felt true anyway. At that, he raised an eyebrow, surprised that she had agreed to tell him anything, although he was relieved for it. "Thank everything" he muttered, closing his eyes for a moment. It meant it had been for something, that was all that mattered, if he would survive the entire time he didn't care much, just as long as she survived. "Guess that's what people so when they're in love" he replied with a shrug, unsure how much she knew.

"I suppose it is. Oh, well." She sighed and shook her head. "If the universe starts collapsing in on us, we've only got ourselves to blame." Despite her words, she didn't actually sound concerned about it — after all, that wasn't quite how it worked. She smiled, happy to have brought Rory some good news. She hummed a little in agreement with his comment. River had always been a romantic at heart, though that much was hardly her fault — not everyone got to grow up watching their parents fall in love. Not everyone had parents like hers. "I’ve always thought so. If there are limits to what a person can accomplish in the name of love, I’ve certainly never heard of them."

"Come in," Rio replied to the knock at her office door. Her head was still pounding — the hospital doctor said she had a concussion and wanted to keep her under observation for a few days. But that was nonsense. It shouldn't be possible for her to get hurt like this. So she returned to the magic school and carried on like normal. "I said come in!" She said, voice shifting to a deeper, louder register — perhaps her injuries were making her a touch more irritable than usual.

"young-il!" jun-hee spoke happily, her voice raising an octave, as she stepped towards the older man. she had been afraid that night in those games. she had thought gi-huns idea was dangerous. it was why she had been insistent that myung-gi would not go. but when the guards had come that night, and none of them had been in sight. jun-hee had feared the worse. "you're alive." she insists shaking her head. "we were so worried when you all didn't come back."

In-ho wasn't yet sure how long he would keep up the Young-il facade - there wasn't really a point to it outside of the games. Yet, if he was honest, he enjoyed pretending he was still a somewhat decent person. There was no harm in pretending for a little longer. "Yes, somehow I survived. But it all went wrong. Gi-hun and Jung-bae... I don't know what happened to them." In-ho looked down with a disheartened sigh, shaking his head. "We were so close. For a moment, I really felt like we could win..."

"Well, they're definitely..." Echo raised her eyebrows, looking at one of the sweaters that had a smiling elf on it. They flicked the bell which was dangling off the fabric as a part of the elf's hat. "Festive…" She said, unable to find anything else positive to say about the sweaters.

Lady wasn't always sure she was...people-ing right, especially when it came to meeting new people, but she wanted to try, especially with someone she was living with. She smiled at the other when she spoke, lighting up when she agreed to come. "Great! That's, awesome! Wait, you know how to fish? I mean, we could do that, but the market might be faster? Depends on how hungry you are I guess!"

“It’s less that I know how to fish and more that I’m… familiar with the concept of fishing,” Echo admitted with a shrug. She figured it wouldn’t be too hard of a skill to pick up, but in truth she’d never tried it before. “Let’s hit the market. It’ll be dark soon, probably not the best time to learn a new trick.”

Rio knew Agatha was alive, she had felt it when her heart started beating again. And it was wrong, of course — her resurrection tipped the sacred balance, same as with everyone else who had been resurrected into this place. Still, she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of happiness at seeing her alive again. Life looked good on her — always had. She was following her now, silently observing for a while. Eventually deciding to make her presence known, she stepped from the shadows. “Agatha Harkness, in the flesh..." She gasped, feigning shock as she moved closer. "Now, there's a surprise. Usually when people die, they... you know, stay dead.”

"Rio?" Billy questioned as he saw the other. His life before Ivy Cove was still a little hazy but he remembered some people from before. He remembered Rio, how could he forget someone like her. "I didn't know anyone else was here.."

She still didn't like that his existence disrupted the natural balance of things, but she would respect Agatha's sacrifice and leave him be. She turned around, her eyes following a couple of random people she saw walking along the sidewalk. "A lot of people are here. People who shouldn't be here..."

"Oh!" River exclaimed when she saw the familiar blue notebook in the others hand. Relief flooded into her expression and she took the diary back, leafing through it as though worried some of the writing may have disappeared, somehow. Then she closed the book and smiled at the other. "Thank you. Very much. My diary is quite important to me."

Rio watched the other walk towards her, tilting her head slightly. People didn't approach her like this often, it wasn't something she was used to. She considered the question for a moment, undecided on an answer. But she had no where else to be at the moment. "No. Come join me," she invited in an indifferent, slightly amused tone.

"Ugh, so not only am I cold, but I'm stuck here being cold with you." Maul rolled his eyes a little at the man, knowing he likely shouldn't sass his employer, but now they were roommates and he didn't have to care. "I don't work for you here, so think twice before assuming I'm the only one who's gonna be keeping the ice home clean." Not that he didn't like Jafar, he was morally questionable and had a charm about him Maul could respect. He just figured it'd be best to set boundaries early. He wasn't getting ordered around in his own living space.

Jafar was not happy about the idea of sharing his living quarters with anyone. At least Maul was someone he knew, sort of, though whether or not this would be any better than living with a stranger was yet to be determined. He was already in a bad mood about the situation, and Maul's attitude was only making him more irritable. “I'd choose my next words carefully, if I were you. You seem to be under the impression we're equals in this place. We're not."

"you could say that again." the raven haired woman replied, a laugh escaping her lips. "i much prefer the silence of my own company if not the company of one or two people close to me." clove explained, shrugging. "with bigger crowds you're forced to perform in such a way that pleases everyone."

So far, none of the people Echo had encountered seemed hostile or dangerous. Plenty of them were actually friendly. Still, she was never comfortable around strangers, even when she tried to be. That made crowds an ordeal for her, and it was why she was hanging on the outskirts of the current one, observing. She nodded in agreement. "Where I'm from, stepping into a crowd of people you don't know could be dangerous."
