What’s In My Bag
These are the things that I carry in my bag.
SOCIETY
Why do we care a lot about society? Why we do all the things considering society in mind? What about society irritates us? Why we are judged for every single step we take? Why it is so important? These questions often come in our mind when we are judged by the society. We begin to curse society due to its negative impacts in our lives. Of course, we are the ones who create society and we are crucial members of it as well. Global societies are generally incorporated with different cultures and religions, and it is a fact that a community would look awful with the same type of people; we are not robots. The basic nature of the term "society" is democratic, then why we force cultural expectations in it? I am including relatives also in society, because apart from our neighbours, colleagues, and other people who comes into the circle of social interaction, relatives are also part of it; they are also living under the same socially accepted norms.
Society is Beneficial for Us
There are many pros and cons of society, but I think there are more advantages than disadvantages. We can improve our society as well as the social norms, but if we prefer social isolation due to its disadvantages, then it might impact morality and might lead to illness as well. The negative effects of society arise when we forget about the importance and the role of our society. Also, the negative effects increase when we forget the basic definition of society. Many of us remain under pressure of society because we think that society is all about showing off and hiding who we actually are; which is not true.
CULTURE
Culture is a crucial concept that accepts human society’s conduct, traditions, information, values, literature, rules, control, skills and habits, as well as those of individuals in these categories.Culture has been called the way of life for an entire society. The Latin expression "cultura," which is related to cults or devotion, is used for the words "Community." The word refers to the product of human activity in its fullest sense. The culture of society contains the universal beliefs, understandings, ideas and aspirations which the present members of society have inherited from earlier generations and passed on to the generations to come.A way of life of a group of people who can share same belief and customs. It include language such as what do they eat,how they are dressed up etc. These groups are called cultural groups.
Culture is essential for us, as it determines our identity for the creation. Community allows us to grasp our common ideals and provides us with life's very meaning. It makes us special from anywhere in the world. When we are born in a specific place, our cultural culture is formed and society forms our lives into our lives today! We are tied for ever by traditional group history. Culture is the lifeblood of a vibrant society, expressed in the many ways we tell our stories, celebrate, remember the past, entertain ourselves, and imagine the future. Our creative expression helps define who we are, and helps us see the world through the eyes of others.
I think this is the closest to how the footage looked by Yuval Hameiri
Yuval Hameiri is an Israeli filmmaker .It is an short documentary made by him. This documentary ‘I Think This Is The Closest to How the Footage Looked’ won the 2014 Sundance jury prize for using non fiction things. He recreated the last day of his mother’s life using the objects in the house. He imagined door nob as himself, angel statue as her sister, coffee maker as his father and tube as her mother. He tried to recall the last night of her mother with the help of objects. His father made a video of her mother on the last day of her life. But the footage was erased .He shows all the objects what did her mom used to do.He tried to recall what all was happened on the last night of her mother. He used handy cam which is not so common. But the future generations, they will not know about it ..Anyone who watch this video can understand his love and affection to her mother.
The Saver by Simon Gerbaud
This is the short animated film by Simon Gerbaud.Simon is the visual artist .His project saver received the Award for the digital work of the year by the SCAM (Paris , France, 2015). This project was supported by FONCA. This animated short film explores everyday objects (a shoe, a laptop, a chair, a fridge, an animal skull ...) using the deconstruction and reconstruction of the object.Once the object is deconstructed it cannot be reconstructed to its original shape it was. This video shows so many things are used to make one object. This short movie consists of some of the photographs created for the saver show, including immersive installations, silk-screen prints and sculptures.
Indian Mythology
When i small my grandmother used to teach me.The story seems to be real. But i have never thought about the hidden story inside it. I never questioned it?We used to see ramayan and mahabharat from only one point of view.We never thought from different point of persective. There are many questions that changed my thinking.
When Ram was going to excile for 14years was it compulsory for Lakshman to leave his wife and go to excile with Ram?Ram can stop
Lakshman but he didnot do?Lakshman would listen to Ram as he always obeys him.

How Yudister could bet on Draupadi? How can Pandhavas allow Cheerharan of Draupadi attempted by Duryodhan and his brother Dushashan?
Main points are
Why are never men blamed?
Why always women had to sacrifice or blamed?
Why always women had to suffer?
Archetype
Archetypes are universal, inborn models of people, behaviours, or personalities that play a role in influencing human behaviour. Universal modules and images which are part of the collective unconscious represent the archetypes. Every person has two sides: conscious and unconscious world. Then the unconscious world is further divided into two parts - personal unconscious and collective unconscious.
Personal vs. Collective Unconscious
Personal unconsciousness consists of personal experience and person’s own experiences.
Collective unconscious Collective unconscious refers to structures of the unconscious mind which are shared among beings of the same species.
Walter Benjamin
“The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction” (1935), by Walter Benjamin, is an essay of cultural criticism which proposes and explains that mechanical reproduction devalues the aura . Benjamin believed that mechanical reproduction has lost its aura because it was very difficult to trace out its presence in time and space. According to Benjamin, work of art has two types of values - Cult Value and Exhibition Value. Cult value is the value of an artistic production within the service of cult. People creates ceremonial object for cult and ritual purposes. It deals with magical and ritual status. While exhibition value is the value of an object exhibited or presented publicly.

Mandala
A Sanskrit mandala is a geometric pattern which has a lot of significance in Hindu and Buddhist cultures. It is thought that Mandalas represent various facets of the cosmos and are primarily used in China , Japan and Tibet as instruments of meditation and prayer symbols. In Hindu and Buddhist cultures a mandala which is Sanskrit for "circle" implies a great deal of symbolism. Mandalas are thought to represent various aspects of the universe and are used as meditation instruments and as prayer symbols.
Individuation Process- Jungian Psychology
Carl Jung 's process of individualisation is a process that helps a person identify himself. It helps us to find the unique and embrace our inner self by immersing ourselves in the inner depth of our conscious and unconscious mind. It helps people to better understand each other.
The individuation process includes:
1.Persona - It is derived from Latin word mask. The persona is also the mask or image to the world. It is not a gesture or any other conscious self-representation to another. . It is self-constituted and can change according to the situation and context.
2.Shadow-The shadow is the opposite side of the ego. In other words , it reflects the ethical elements that the ego opposes and that other people claim as their own. Assimilating the shadow requires accepting these spiritual flaws as part of our own identity. In dreams the shadow will take the form of close friends , relatives and associates who display unethical characteristics from our viewpoint.
3,Animus/Anima- Jung described the animus as the unconscious masculine side of a woman, and the anima as the unconscious feminine side of a man, each transcending the personal psyche. The anima represents the entirety of the latent feminine psychological attributes that a man possesses, and the sexual animus that a woman possesses.
4.Self-The self is an archetype reflecting a person's collective unconsciousness and consciousness. Jung was often a self as a circle, as a square or as a mandala. The creation of the self takes place via a process called individuality, which incorporates the various aspects of personality.
Self Respect Movement
The Self-Respect Movement was founded in 1921.E.V Ramasamy, popularly known as Periyar is regarded as the ‘Father of Modern Tamil Nadu.’
The Brahminian hegemony broke out, women and the reverse classes were equal rights and women were revitalised in society, and the Dravidian languages included, among others, Telugu , Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. It rejected Brahmins' supremacy as the dominant class and thus enabled those belonging to the lower end of caste-based society in India to promote self-respect. The revolution saw marriages as not bound by caste and hence promoted inter-caste and inter-religious marriages where a person of their choosing should be allowed to be married. The self-respecting marriages often stood for remarrying widows, as the prevalence of child marriages at a young age widowed many children. The campaign was able to draw woman's large audience. Tamil Nadu was one of the first states to legalise Hindu marriages without the intervention of a Brahmin priest who contributed to an increase in inter-caste marriages.
What is the difference between roti, fulka and chapati?

Chapati is usually bigger in size than a phulka. Chapati is completely cooked on tava .While chapati can be served later.
Phulka is the another name used by punjabi for roti.It is first cooked on pan than the other. It is so thin in size .It is served immediately before loosing its puffiness. It is properly greased with ghee or butter.
Ethnography
Ethnography is a qualitative method of study originating from anthropology but applied to other areas. The first the ethnography involves lengthy stretches of time. Ethnographic is a detailed study of a culture or aspect. This prolonged data collection period offered local people a chance to get acquainted with the ethnographer and this also helped the ethnographer to establish relationships with local people.
“The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story.” -Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s “The Danger of a Single Story.” is a Combining of comedy with a fresh cultural experience which many of us have had the pleasure of listening to, in less than 20 minutes they expand our world and offer a wonderful dialogue which still motivates audiences today. Chimamanda ’s goal is not to scold her viewers for lack of awareness, but rather to demonstrate that these misunderstandings and narrow insights are common. By opening a story about Fide and his family’s poverty with her own admission, she opens herself to the criticism of this talk. It makes her a more real character, and often brings charm to the plot in a way that lets the viewer feel like she’s a close friend, not just a speaker. The purpose of this TED talk is to encourage us to broaden the scope of stories we consume about other people and cultures.Chimamanda uses around ten different smaller stories to share the core message itself. All of them fit beautifully together, combing her personal experience as a Nigerian in America as well as her Nigerian experience with its own limitations in literature and so on.
“A broad yet applicable call to action” The quote is from the final lines of Chimamanda’s talk. It is a call to action, which sums up all her words and motivates the viewer because it inspires them to look for more storeys. Such an appeal is not as deliberately “read this one thing,” but it seamlessly fits with its message. There is not just one way to become a global reader, it is obviously to wake up to storeys from everywhere.
PALIMPSEST
Something that has changed over time and shows evidence of that change
Palimpsest
writing material (as a parchment or tablet) used one or more times after earlier writing has been erased.
something having usually diverse layers or aspects apparent beneath the surface
Architects, archaeologists and design historians sometimes use the word to describe the accumulated iterations of a design or a site, whether in literal layers of archaeological remains, or by the figurative accumulation and reinforcement of design ideas over time. Some of examples as below:
· Plastic Surgery
· White blackboard in a classroom
· Re-branding
. Updates on apps
Stereotype
A stereotype is an over-generalized belief about a particular category of people. It is an expectation that people might have about every person of a particular group. The type of expectation can vary; it can be, for example, an expectation about the group’s personality, preferences, or ability.
Jordindian - Smoke Shisha Play Fifa
The song takes a dig at the flamboyant lifestyle of the 2 different stereotype people that are rich Sheikhs and Indians who immigrate to the Middle East for money. The tagline of the video says, “when you get bored in the Arab world, there is always Shisha (Hookaa) and FIFA.” The song features the two artistes, rapping some witty lyrics about the lavish life and craze around football and shisha among the youth. Though it also highlights the difference in culture of people of 2 different countries. Gulf people loves smoking hookaa (Shisha) whereas Indian culture is against it. Besides this there are lots of similarities between 2 youth culture like watching/playing football, women and spending time on beaches.
Stereotype of Sardars of Delhi- Teaming up as Dilli De Sardar Boys, this fun group brings out the most notorious side of every stereotype Dilli wale sardarji and amuses us through a hilarious video. Singhsta’s perfect Bhangra beats and just the right lyrics, will make you giggle, no matter what age group you belong to. It also pokes fun at Punjabi wedding stereotypes, while everyone else may have arrived on time, the sardars from Delhi have their own plan of action – and being punctual is not one of them (though eating momos and butter chicken is). Song also includes different things that a sardar does and carry’s in day to day life like tying a turban, carrying a turban pin etc. Songs shown the open nature of Sikhs especially new generation which like living fearless and doing show-offs especially Dilli Sardar boys.
