C H E E S E !
Another most asked topic to post about is cheese! I know it seems scary, and there is a lot with transitioning to dairy-free cheese but trust me it can happen. So there are two things you can do here. You can make cheese and/or you can buy it. I know I’ve told you a lot about the cheese posted on my blog but I can not stress how good it is, really. I promise you don’t have to be expert level 42 chef in the kitchen either if you have a blender, you can make this cheese. Another fav of mine that you can also make in a blender is cashew cheese, here’s a recipe I love: https://www.thekitchn.com/vegan-cheese-sauce-loving-food-while-losing-weight-215138
Now if you’re not into making your cheese or you really just need some cheese slices here are some brands I love that you can purchase at most grocery stores (I get these at Publix, Sprouts, and Whole Foods)
Field Roast Chao slices come in three flavors: Coconut Herb, Tomato Cayenne, and (my favorite) Creamy Original.
Follow Your Heart has so many flavors including a Smoked Gouda (not pictured)
Kite Hill, possibly my favorite brand. I can’t wait for them to release more products! I definitely prefer their cream cheese over Tofutti, but they are also still really good (Check out Tofutti’s sour cream). Also vegan ricotta?!?! yes, sign me up.
annnnnd now for some cheeses that I am not a fan of and would advise you to stay away from (unless you like this stuff, go ahead.)
….melted..plastic..?
Not my favorite, and also this isn’t a vegan brand, most of there cheeses are just “lactose free” but still contain milk, so if you do end up liking this one just make sure it has the purple vegan label like this.
