No it’s throbbing.

My sight is fuzzy.

My mind is blaring.

My heart is pounding to the beat of catastrophe.

There is a cry that is thriving within. Striving to consume. It’s eating me alive. I swear I’m dying. I’m suffocating. Struggling to speak. As I choke on these muffled cries. The words drip off my tongue like liquid fire laced in honey. -Harleigh Stillwell 11-5-17

A loose knit sweater that was never quite there.

My heart aches as I watch ashes fall down

From the forest fire that has been set.

I never knew the value of a close knitted family.

I never had a father until you came along

But, now you too hold a match

And you dropped it like it was nothing

Sending the forest into ashes.

The heart wants what it wants.

Because I am a loaded cannon. Stumbling upon building block after block. I am scribbled lines across tattered paper. Searching for the light through the cracks within the night. You felt like home. But we don't talk anymore.

I sat in complete silence that flooded the night.

As the fire danced to the beat of the forest.

It’s flame is like that of a beautifully splattered animal only to be storing poison within.

The fire came to a steaming halt with oozing Arctic Waters.

All was quiet

Not a quiver in the trees.

The blackness of the night is a dark blanket gently placed upon us.

There is a bliss in the silence.

It is submerged within the trees.

A place where the world’s grip has no hold.

For once I can breathe.

Find someone who loves you well. Someone who never belittles you. Even in the heat of an argument. Someone who is gentle with you, but does not treat you like you are fragile. Someone who knows what you are capable of, and celebrates those pieces of you. Not someone who is intimidated by your strength. Someone who doesn’t make you feel guilty for being flawed. It is not love’s job to punish you. And remember the person you love is just as broken as you are when they fall short. No one is perfect – do not hold them to this standard. Find someone who is patient, forgiving, and apologetic. Someone who practices forgiveness freely and often. Love someone who is humble, kind, and empathetic. Not only with you, but with a beggar on the street, or a stranger in the supermarket. Common courtesy is important. Compassion is important. Kindness is important.
