The Mitre Stool is a durable, yet visually light stool with a refined technicality. Composed of four separate planes, the seat of the stool is a geometric play

Sometimes getting angrier at your art means getting better.
For the past few months I had to work with water colours which I’m not very experienced in. Every singe illustration made me so angry…
… mostly because after every mistake I had a new idea on how I could have avoided that mistake. And while I learnt to avoid some of them, I kept making new mistakes that I hadn’t made before… and which I also only figured out after they were done.
But in the end, all those mistakes and ideas add up to some very nice new skills. Level up!!
So, be angry as much as you want. Just don’t stop drawing!
determined to post one a day for the next week!

Chair of the Day: Forest Armchair
By the designers Robby and Francesca Cantarutti for the company Fast
I put this up not just because it's beautiful and works wonderfully both indoors and outdoors and because it's literally everywhere and I think the Cantaruttis should get credit, but also because some harmless delinquents I know may or may not have borrowed some of these indefinitely from a cafe and are have them sitting prettily in an apartment in SF. They did a wonderful job iterating on the design for the entire suite
oh myyyyy
Chair of the Day: One for Two
Just found this little interesting gem while floating around some furniture blogs

Tivoli at night. Lights make this place come alive
Tivoli :) Such a magical magical place. I think it was originally the site of a World Expo (which would explain the Epcot-like international melting-pot feel of the place) Apparently, Walt Disney came to Tivoli back in the day and was inspired to make Disneyland.
Full Speed Ahead Copenhagen
So as I mentioned before, during the last two weeks in Copenhagen, I went on a bit of a Copenhagen rampage - going to Tivoli, running around Vesterbro and Norrebro, running to museums, jumping in the harbor, planetariums, eating hot dogs and smoked salmon (separately) like it was my JOB...oy. So much that now the days sort of blend together, but all the sights and sounds are still distinct.
Starting with one of my absolute favorite days! The morning was dedicated to finishing up a bit of work at the studio, and my good friend and official Copenhagen buddy Kassie and I decided we wanted to go to the Louisiana Museum up north of Copenhagen. The whole trip was I think 200DKK for the train ticket from the Central Station to Humlebaek, which was about a 30 minute train ride.
The Louisiana Museum is pretty much world class. If the Getty Museum, LACMA, and the Orestedparken in Copenhagen had a baby, and then brought in artists from all over Denmark and the world, and then put it next to the Oresund Strait so you could go museum hopping and then jump in the sea, there you'd have the Louisiana.
The two exhibitions of note: A retrospective of Yoko Ono's avant-garde work, and the incomparable Tara Donovan. Both were absolutely INCREDIBLE. Oh my lord. Only managed to sneak one photo of Tara's work
Their permanent collection was equally incredible, and I've been dreaming about seeing one of the infinite light boxes by Yayoi Kusama, and LO AND BEHOLD! THERE IT WAS! Gleaming Lights of the Soul. Long story short, I want one.
Kass and I headed out afterwards and went out and about in Vesterbro, stopping at Lele Nha Hang for some Asian-inspired cocktails, before hitting up Karriere and Jolene, super hipster (and in Jolene's case, trashy) bars in the Meatpacking District, and then reuniting with the DIS crew to go to Drunken Flamingo and Butchers. Basically....clubbing crazy.
But on a more serious note, y'all need to keep an eye out for this girl: Kassandra Huynh. I'm calling it now, she's gonna be big :). Huge fan of her work and it's nice to know she's also one of the sickest people I've ever met. Also, some more of my talented classmates: check out Scott Schwartz, Ryan Wakat (esp photography) and Max Berger! I want to just like...post everyone from DIS's work, and lead them to their portfolios but this is just a taste of the brilliant kids I had the pleasure of hanging out with :)
opera sunsets
superkilen at night, and another park (i'll look up the name later) that is designed to be like a fairytale for kids - there are poems written on the ground!! Really shines at night when you can see all the awesome lighting
Lunch and studies in wood by the talented students of the Denmark Designskole with my beautiful friend Erin!
on the roof of our studio! my favorite place in copenhagen :)
