BROTHER // pinetrust:
『 ↟↟ 』 Twins are supposed to be inseparable , being born so close to one another & all of that junk. but in a way the two were almost opposites of everything siblings should be. he felt more like a lower being to her than he was an equal ; like he was supposed to be ashamed for being unable to please her. it was .. kind of pathetic of him to have such a mindset. & that only infuriated him with his shortcomings even more.
『 ↟↟ 』 He didn’t understand how she could be so uninterested in the world around her. everything this universe had to offer that wasn’t complete & utter chaos meant almost nothing to her. & he couldn’t help but feel that he meant nothing to her as well. & even if he didn’t want it too … that idea hurt him. like he had exposed himself to the fire too long & ended up burning in it.
❛ yeah , fine. i’ll keep my mouth shut. ❜
『 ↟↟ 』 His tone is exhausted ; almost as dull as her own. despite the rushing emotions that came & went inside of him he just felt like the entire ‘ if you can’t beat them , join them ‘ motto is quite relevant to his relationship with mabel. he lets out an exhausted sigh ; leaning back as he simply lets the sounds of rain reclaim him ; waiting for her to either break the silence ; or for his boredom to set in.
The TENSITY of such moments with her brother always left Mabel’s mind to wonder many times; were they always this way? Always so distant, out of touch? Whatever the answer might be, it’s irrelevant to her now - and a thought process commonly lost to her schemes of wanton destruction. She had long grown tired of this dimension, its ways and its people, though perhaps that was just her murderous apathy speaking. She was forever an outcast, but she would be the one to cast others out, and her brother was unfortunately no exception.
The silence between them is heavy and empty, though with Mabel it is full of contemplation, the cogs in her brain turning as she mulls over their situation. Their future. Or rather, HERS.
❝ We’re so much bigger than this stupid hick town, ❞ the muttering came suddenly, though the personal pronoun she used was a very interesting choice. The irritation in her expression is surely dulled, but she’s reached a point of not caring - BESIDES, ALL THIS PENT UP FRUSTRATION LURKED BENEATH THE CYNIC. She stands in the rain, looking across the horizon. Fists tense at her sides, and she looks skyward. ❝ We’re so much bigger than everyone. ❞
It’s strange for her to be so open about her feelings, much more in front of an AUDIENCE. But perhaps that’s because there was no one to be honest with - AND WAS SHE STILL BEING HONEST? TRULY?
❝ ... but why is that so difficult to bring to fruition? ❞
