Good Omens Fan Fiction Friday (8/22/25) - Classic Fairy Tales

Damn work. Leaves little time to curate a long list of fics. But I've chosen a select theme--classic fairy tales. These are not necessarily stories about fairies. They're the kind of stories you'd find in a children's story book (well, minus the spicy bits in the one rated "E"). Or perhaps they'd make a good Disney movie. And each one is a delight.

First, up is True Love's Hiss (T) by @shaggydogstail. Princess Aziraphale is locked in a tower with her books. She's guarded by the dragon Crowley. What are you getting with the sassy story? Let's let the writer speak: "Princess Aziraphale was beautiful, accomplished, and kind. She was also opinionated, fussy, and temperamental, which might go some way to explaining why her family had locked her up in the tower in the first place." With that, I was hooked. The story includes lovely art by @iklexos.

Next is The Weight of Memory (E) by @searching4sarahtonin and @missunderstoodlyrics. In this charming tale, Aziraphale is a noble and Crowley is a thief in the 14th century. Unfortunately for both of them, Gabriel has a pash on Aziraphale and casts a curse he thinks will make Aziraphale his alone. I don't want to give too much away. But it's a surprising and original story.

Finally, we have The Bounds of Gold (T) by AbAlaAvis/@suavissimapenna. This adaptation of the Rumplestiltskin story has Aziraphale desperate for gold to illuminate a book for the Prince's birthday. When he can't find it anywhere, he summons a mysterious creature who helps him turn straw into gold. This story is illustrated by Nettlethistle (@kricketbug) in a style that really fits the old-fashioned tale.

Princess Aziraphale is locked in the tower, surrounded by her books, as she waits for a hero to rescue her and win her hand in marriage. The dragon’s an occupational hazard.

Only… the dragon Crowley isn’t truly terrifying. She’s a dreadful nuisance, but she’s funny, interesting, and secretly quite sweet. Aziraphale prefers Crowley to the suitors vying for her hand, which is… awkward, to say the least. A princess can’t exactly live happily ever after with a dragon. Can she?

My Mother’s Soul

This took me so long! (6-9 months) but it was well worth the effort! It was a commission my dad gave me with full artistic freedom. I took advantage of that; challenging myself to do things I’ve not yet done, going outside my comfort zone, and pushing my abilities. It’s digital but fully painted as I would with wet paints and a canvas.

The doll parts helped me work on values that distinguish form, using both basic and irregular shapes that are glossy.

The details of the painted blue tattoos over her body put myself in the mindset of a tattoo artist; how placement and shapes on a 2-D piece work on a 3-D form.

The chest and thigh pieces were designed individually, I’m thinking of making them into temp tattoos for my mother to use for herself.

“I won’t let you fall, Angel!” Is the first thing Crowley has said to Aziraphel since they were last together in the bookshop; which was quite some time ago. After all the signs and messages the celestial sent to him, unanswered, he was sure that he was truly alone. To save the earth from destruction, alone. That as he fell from grace from being found out, he would fall, alone. Whatever end he would meet, whether it be execution or the crossfires of war, it would be alone. But here he is, with his bright beautiful daffodil eyes, seeing right into his angel and melting away all his fears. Crowley the magnificent, glorious, effervescent demon pulling Aziraphel out of the sky he was plummeting from. His voice like a symphony of hope, the angel believing in it more than anything he has ever had faith in before. He was going to get through this; THEY were going to get through this. Aziraphel curls his fingers clinging onto Crowley’s leather jacket as he embraces him, “And I won’t let you go, not again!”

If you made it this far, thank you so much for reading my little blurb for my #goodomens3 fan art! This is by far my favorite thing I’ve drawn this year and I can’t wait to make more Good Omens fan art going forward. After the announcement for I had a lot of thoughts on how the ineffable husbands would find themselves speaking with each other again. Please share your thoughts on how you think the new season will go, I love hearing everyone’s predictions!

Found this post as a draft, art from 2016 that I forgot to post. This was right before Sardonyx was revealed in the Steven universe and I decided to make that my gemstone at the time. I’m still very proud of her.
