The fanmaren is basically your inner toddler. The you that thinks "I should just go die right now" when you fuck up frying an egg, the you that experiences momentary delight when you set the dish soap down and bubbles fly out.
Nights is uncomfortable with the fanmaren because they essentially see a more naive version of themselves in them and is still grappling with how they acted/what they could've done better during that period before and just after escaping Wiseman. Doesn't really know this and is additionally confused because they reckon they like kids, overall just really disturbed by this thing. You can kind of think of them as that preteen stage where everything you do is immediately cringe and embarrassing 1 month later.
Reala has basically done the mental gymnastics Nights is going through like 10 times but didn't have the space for it under Wiseman and has just extremely compartmentalised everything already. Has already gotten over it and forgiven herself but still seems indifferent to Night's struggle. The part of you that looks at preteen you and thinks "thank god I'm normal now", the kind of person where her trauma didn't make her more empathetic and unfortunately more cruel.
