The hunt for Ixis Naugus would be coming to an end. After pushing deep into the Northamer continent’s northern wilderness, almost to the frost covered arctic region. There were precious few places left for Naugus to run to as the irradiated zone offered nothing more than death for him and Ultimate. The thought brought a smirk to Jerard’s face as he pressed on with Geoffrey and Grievous. They were close to the end of this.
There was a consideration of if this was going to end with a bang, or a whimper…likely the latter. This wasn’t some big event.
This was clean up.
“What are we going to do after this then, huh?”
“Head back, turn in a report and be ready in time for Harmony’s Birthday. Keeping on Naugus’ behind has been worth it to make sure he doesn’t return as a threat, so, now it’s about finishing it.” Jerard would point out to the skunk.
Geoffrey would think about it. “I almost thought it was going to be more grand. I forget how sometimes missions like this don’t really get much fanfare.”
“Well it’s not exactly high profile like a villain attacking a nation. It’s just driving out a fox from their hole.”
“I struggle to understand why you keep using phrases like that. Isn’t your adopted brother a hedgefox?”
“The analogy stands. What? Do you want me to say skunk instead?”
“Ugh…never mind. Let’s get this over with.”
The lair they would come across wasn’t grand, but it wasn’t humble either. It was a small fort that seemed to be crumbling in places. It was definitely new from the lack of weathering. Just poorly crafted. “Does this wizard just have a poor understanding of infrastructure?”
"Nah, he's just cornered by someone he should've left alone." A young voice responds
"You've got yourselves into something bigger than yourselves unfortunately."
