Greetings friends and office workers! Put away your punch cards and get ready for an exciting new suite of business soft-wear -- the slickest thing to run on big iron since VAX/VMS! It's a whole new universe of productivity, ultra-minimal design, far-out footwear, and sexy swimsuits, plus dresses, jackets, bags, and even sunglasses. COBOL 77, my first new line in over a year, is coming your way on Sunday, June 1st, in an outrageously fun fash mob presentation right here in San Francisco. COBOL 77 is the result of a year of intensive effort and of a collaboration with the very talented German designer Laura Zey. Embracing unorthodox materials ranging from steel and acrylic to silicone and epoxy resins, and employing cutting-edge design and production techniques, we've managed to put together an office-ready wardrobe that is guaranteed to turn heads, blow circuits, and withstand 6.3 gigacuries of gamma radiation. Joining us in our informative, efficient, and deranged presentation will be experimental musicians Tom Nunn (Edgetone Records) and Ed Dahl (SpacEKrafT), and Butoh performer Ronnie Baker (Earthchild Butoh). The fun will start in the evening of Sunday, June 1st, at a secret San Francisco location surrounded by some of San Francisco's most starkly beautiful modernist architecture.
