the feelings of that year ★ drabble
[★] ---- That year had been hard for her. How many times had Wendy lost her home now? Her family? Grandeeney, Mystogan, Caitshelter, and then eventually Fairy Tail. It was hard, she was only twelve years old - but she wanted to be stronger than that. Wendy didn’t want anyone to worry, that was never the case. Fairy Tail was constantly looking after her, and that was part of her inspiration for growing stronger. She was happy she had a place to belong, where people were happy to look out for her... but she always felt guilty. ‘The guild does so much for me, but I can never do anything for the guild’.
But then, side by side, she lost both her hope for ever being reunited with her foster mother and the guild that she’d come to treasure. Fairy Tail’s disbandment undoubtedly hurt Wendy far more than anyone else. And it was in that moment that it truly hit her.
Just how small she really was.
Phew... Home from work (finally). I have the next couple of days off, so I'll leave starter requests open for now! So like this post if you'd like one!
I said I was going to do replies and I managed some, but then I got distracted iconing Blue Mistral. Woe is me.
do you ship with romeo?
Actually, anon, because of Wendy’s age I’m not too keen on shipping her in general! While I would prefer to pair her off with someone in her own age range (like 15 years old max), I don’t really see any chemistry with Romeo outside of the fact that they’re in the same age group. That isn’t to say I don’t think it’s impossible or that nobody should ship them, but rather this is how I perceive their relationship.
That said, the only canon character I really ship Wendy with at all is Chelia. And even then, only as a fluffy ship.

"Cana-san?" Wendy hoped she wasn't being a bother. If Cana wasn't drunk, she tended to be hungover unless partaking in a mission. The Dragon Slayer didn't think poorly for the other for it, being only a child herself. Besides, she perceived Cana as a sort of sisterly figure, their bond having strengthened after the Grand Magic Games. "I was wondering... That's been in the keg, right? What does it taste like?" She was only curious.
Yet again the male was left on his own in the silence of the guild, allowing his thoughts to wonder as to why everyone had gone? Even Lucy had disappeared onto a mission with Juvia. Suddenly hearing the soft voice though caused his gaze to lift up, lips still pressed to the glass of alcohol. Natsu seemed not to care what time of day he drank.
Seeing the food placed down in front of him caused a brow to raise, eyes glancing at them before the young slayer. Of course his appetite was long gone, but she went through all this trouble…
" Sure I’ll have one. Can’t be that bad right ? “
"W-Well... Mira-san gave me the recipe and watched over me while I did them, but I'm not very confident..." The plate resting before Natsu, it was clear some of them were a little burnt. They probably weren't as full of chocolate chips as they could have been either, but they were made with an earnest desire. They said you could make someone happy by cooking for them, right? Cooking itself might be too complicated at her current level, but something as easy as cookies... She had a little confidence going into the process.
"I just wanted to make something for everyone, so hope they aren't too bad..." Had he eaten already? She'd thought maybe he'd be more interested, somehow. "I-It's okay though, if you're not hungry don't force yourself!"
"Yuh, you’re too kind to me, dearie! I’m stuh, still
going to do something for you! Just you wait! An
Ordinae always re, repays their debts! Always! No
matter what! Momma always used to tell me that!”
Bright brown eyes blinked in response with confusion
before she wiped her tears and beamed. This girl was
so polite!
"Yes, I’m in that one! …Kuh- Kagura-dono’s, I mean. It’s
for, um, more personal reasons… I don’t fit the part, do
I? Eheheheehehehhehe… I’m, uh, stronger than I look,
so… really! Don’t worry about me. Ever. Please. I’m
Rhyma Filutia Ordinae. Weird name, huh? I don’t really
like it… that much. I kuh, kinda like my middle name,
though. It’s kinda cute… Not too cute, though… You have
a lovely name, Marvell-dono! Oh, uh, I must talking t- too
much… Sorry.”
The young woman looked like a nervous wreck, but it wasn't like Wendy couldn't sympathize. She'd been that bad, once. She still was bad at times, but she'd put a lot of effort towards improving. "It's okay, really! You aren't even indebted to me!" Still, Wendy was having issues keeping up with Rhyma's pace. She managed a smile at her introduction regardless, though.
"Just Wendy is fine!" In a way, the -dono was giving her flashbacks to Jura Neekis of Lamia Scale. "I don't think you should judge someone's strength by their appearance, though, nor do I think your name is weird! It's pretty, Rhyma-san! I don't have a middle name - at least not that I'm aware of..."

favorite team natsu quotes: wendy marvell [1/?]
"No, no, no!! It’s completely my fuh, fault! I should’ve watched
for people or puh, payed attention! Please, let me make it up
to you! Even if you’re— you’re a Fairy Tail mage, you didn’t do
anything wroooooong! I’m not hurt at all, really! I muh, mean,
Mermaid Heel members have to be kuh, kinda strong! Though…”
"I’m… one of the weakest members, probably… aha… D- Don’t
worry about someone luh, like me… please… I’m sorryyyy…”
"It's okay! It's okay! There's nothing to apologize for, I promise! If I'm fine, and you're fine, than I guess nobody is at fault, right!?"
"Wait... Mermaid Heel? You're a member of Kagura-san's guild?" Considering how willful the members she'd met had seemed, it was kind of surprising. Then again, Wendy didn't exactly fit the role of the model Fairy Tail stereotype, either. "Still, it doesn't matter if you're strong or weak, of course I'll worry if someone could be hurt! So don't apologize, alright? My name is Wendy! Wendy Marvell! What about you?"
"Ah- ah… Um… It’s okay! I’m okay! I’m 100% alright!
You— You don’t need to do that for someone like me!
Puh, pleaaaase don’t wooorryyy! I’ll make it up to you!
I’m sorry!”
Rhyma needs to be stopped.
"Wh-Why would you make it up to me? I'm the one who bumped into you! Don't be sorry, I should be sorry! Are you sure you're okay, though? It wouldn't take much effort to heal any bruises or anything... I'm a Fairy Tail mage, after all, I need to take responsibility for what I've done!"
