❝ perfect! ❞ beaming, he reaches a hand into his hat and pulls out a wand, proceeding to then tap the object against the side of it a couple times. there’s a beat before he pulls aback, amber hues focusing greatly on it. why wasn’t a bird flying out like he intended? or anything for that matter?? was he doing something wrong?? 

 ❝ uh. hold on for a sec. ❞ glaring down, he’s inspecting the hat, completely perplexed by the situation. ❝ yeah, that? wasn’t supposed to happen. ❞ for all the times his magic could act up on him, why right now- in the middle of a small performance?

It was rather quiet today at camp, surprisingly enough, and David had decided that it would be a great day for magic camp- something relatively calm compared to how the camp normally ran. While the other kids had already stopped paying attention and were milling around the activity field, the counselor was focused on trying to learn a supposedly simple sleight of hand trick. It was proving to be rather difficult however.  “Alright, Harrison, can you show me again? I think I’ve almost got it!” He, in fact, did not almost have it.

❝ oh- well, okay. ❞ raising an eyebrow, it felt like david wasn’t really... getting it. ❝ you have to hold it between your thumb and your first two fingers. ❞ showing off in action as he explained it out loud, ❝ use your opposite hand to block the sight of the coin to make it appear like you’re picking it up and palm it. then take the original hand and hide it as you try to get the audience to try and focus on the hand that they think has it. ❞ opening the hand he mentioned, there was no quarter in sight. hopefully he explained it correctly?

❝ i mean, that’s kinda difficult when you have people that like to always point out how much of a fake you are in front of a entire audience. ❞ was he still... thinking about that whole incident involving neil? yes, definitely. ❝ not to mention having to deal with others being absolutely terrified of my powers. but when you say it- yeah, it sounds incredibly easy. ❞ judging by his tone, it’s hard to figure whether he’s being sarcastic or not.

❝ oh, you really think so? ❞ uncertainty only stops him for a short moment before a smile greets the other, now emboldened. harrison really appreciates praise, especially when it was concerning his magic. ❝ well, of course i do! give me one moment. ❞ pulling a coin from the bottom of his sleeve, he flips it into the air, then waving his fingers as he kept the object in midair. it was now levitating!
