Looker is based on a Kiger Mustang.. same thing as Spirit. Felt like a movie star horse and something relatively down-to-earth fit him. It's got a rugged/wild look instead of being flat out domesticated. Very western.

Anabel is a Unicorn, without the horn, so she's more a standard white horse. She's not too special, just a bit more unusual, more enigmatic, due to the nature of her character. A chimera of animal parts, very eerie.

Nanu is a Jackass. Pun intended, but donkeys are much less flighty than horses. More sure of their footing, more load bearing. The bulldog of equids that is not afraid to go for the kill if necessary. Very aloof.
