about my etsy

hey guys, if you’re following my insta/twitter, you may have already seen what has been going on.

it seems that v*iz media has been issuing mass take-downs of jojo/naruto/etc fanmerch on etsy - 10 of my 26 listings have been forcibly removed in the span of 24 hours. if you check etsy now, most of the listings that were there for years have disappeared. its a really unfortunate turn of events but there is nothing we can really do about this.

i am considering abandoning my etsy due to this - i never predicted that this would happen considering i know jjba merch artists that have had their listings up for years. my fellow merch artists and i are pretty scared of what’s to come, too.

what i’m trying to say is if you see a decline in available fanmerch on etsy, its bc of this. if you want to buy fanart merch reliably, i suggest following the artist’s social media and seeing if they have a personal website/store. im unsure of how this will affect artist alleys either, but i just want you guys to understand what’s going on.

tl;dr: fanart merch on etsy that fall into v*iz media copyrights are being removed right now. if you’d like to support fanmerch artists, follow their social media, buy from them at cons, and see if they have their own personal website/store.
