Song Joong-Ki as Vincenzo Cassano in Episode 1
Vincenzo (2021)
Oh to have someone to look at you like Vincenzo looks at his Cha Young
mood:
Is Anyone Else Praying For Season 2?
Vincenzo Horse Scene . . . Still Not Over It
Vincenzo's preferred role in life is to be Cha-young's accessory first and comedy support second, it is my favorite thing
Me seeing people celebrating when their ships become canon
Steve finding the answer in the manual for Nancy, Steve completing the reactivation of the tower, Steve suggesting offering emotional support to Nancy when she's at the hospital, Steve being a key player in the success of the Turnbow Trap, Steve driving through the gate into the Upside Down with Nancy's blessing (that's all Steve needs), Steve suggesting that they keep moving until they find a solution and save Holly (I agree with Steve), Steve suggesting they switch up the teams so that people can work together, Steve trying to move heaven and earth to get to Nancy despite the great danger to himself, Steve breaking through the wall and helping Nancy through the opening, Steve asking if she's OK, Steve attentive to Nancy listening for Holly's cry, Steve coming up with the master plan (with Nancy's refinement), Steve ready go upgrade his weapon but deferring to Nancy's expertise--
DO YOU SEE THE VISION
The Duffers said: No
Steve such a grace-filled character played by such a grace-filled actor. He took everything and made it work. But he did in fact deserve better. They didnāt resolve the love confession in season 4. They didnāt give him any real closure.
Brb suing the Duffers for custody of Steve Harrington and Nancy Wheeler
I am sorry but you will never convince me that there is a universe in which both Robin and Nancy live in the same State, and Steve isn't already there updating his drivers licence.
āiām supposed to buy robin and eddie wanting steve and nancy to get back together?ā yes, just like us stancies were forced to buy jon and nancy getting together after murray pushed them in season 2. the difference is murray knew them for what? a day and a half? and made way more assumptions about both of their lives than either robin or eddie ever did. eddie admitted to not knowing why steve and nancy broke up, robin could see that nancy was clearly unhappy in her relationship with jonathan and saw her eyeing steve on multiple occasions and the smile on her face when she did so. the difference is that murray pitted jon and nancyās insecurities against each other, two young impressionable teenagers who he knew how to prod to get to do what he wanted. eddie and robin just wanted to see their friends happy again. š¤·āāļø love shouldnāt make you miserable.
i hate how they framed the jancy breakup.
weāve been saying for a long time jonathan is a bad boyfriend but everyone has pointed fingers at us and mocked us.
they framed the confessions as sweet. as a romcom moment that says āi loved you despite the things i hated about youā
but jonathanās confessions were so much fucking meaner. he stole one of nancyās sweaters and gave it away just because HE didnāt like the color pink? he hates everything she writes?
i canāt tell if the duffers are illiterate themselves or what. why are we given two love interests, one whoās changed and grown tremendously. one who has proved time and time again that he always shows up. and one who hates everything about his girlfriend, just to wash both options down the toilet.
iām still hoping for an epilogue reunion, since there is a two year time skip, but iām just not sure howād they go about that.
Something I love about Steve is how he doesn't really hold people's anger against them. He knows exactly what it's like to make bad decisions and lash out at people because of your own ugly emotions, because that was him once (and occasionally still is!). He understands that your lowest moments are not what define you, and he extends that to the people around him, and I think that's a big part of why he lets people take cheap jabs at him a lot; they need to let out their negative emotions somewhere, and he has enough self confidence to handle it. It's what Dustin needed, someone he could lash out at without losing. He is a steady emotional pillar supporting the less stable people around him, even when they don't realise it.
I think we could all just agree the ''it was never like that with him'' was simply a terrible way of phrasing what Nancy meant to say. I myself am waiting for it to be clarified, and maybe I'm being naĆÆve, but I think it will be.
Now I'm at a certain stage where I began to find it funny, because I've seen 832947892 interpretations of it, from Stancy shippers, I mean.
AND IT'S NOT BECAUSE WE'RE DELUSIONAL LIKE THE JNCIES WHO THOUGHT THAT WASN'T A BREAK UP SCENE. NOPE.
Antis are having a feast with it, of course, but I'm focusing on our side, and it's just really hilarious how we're trying to put together what the hell did she mean when 15 min later miss Nancy newly single Wheeler is out there full of heart eyes and smiles, also AS IF we still needed proof that what she has/feels for Steve is pretty intense.
I hate when the writing doesn't seem to make sense, and I've rewatched that scene today and made my peace with it. I think I get it, and I think some people also do and were really good at explaining that, but...
Yeah, here's my humble take on it.
So, Nancy tells J she felt like she needed space, and that's why she didn't go to Lenora to be with him. She needed space because she was already tired of his bullshit, and Nancy even thought J could have met someone else and that was why he was more distant (emotionally speaking).
Now after this, J doesn't ask why, he asks: "Space to be with someone else?"
Maybe he got the ''I'm kinda glad you weren't (here),'' maybe her defending Steve and the way Stancy are around each other made J think that they had something going on while he was away (well, who can blame him, lmao). And it took him a year and a half and to think they were going to die to simply ask her, "Space to be with someone else?"
And here comes Nancy's infamous, confusing as hell answer, because SHE KNOWS WHO HE'S BEEN JEALOUS OF, WHO HE THINKS 'SOMEONE ELSE' IS, SHE SAYS, "Steve's a good guy. He makes me laugh. And, he has better hair than you. Like, way better."
Steve has qualities to be that someone else for Nancy. She admires them/him.
But she didn't stay in Hawkins to be with him. She wasn't searching for someone to replace J.
Steve happened to be there, though. "But no. No, it was never like that with him."
First time I heard this sentence? I crashed out. My world crumbled. But... let's analyze it!
In the context of what Nancy is telling him here, of her deciding to stay in Hawkins because she needed space FROM J, NOT TO BE WITH SOMEONE ELSE. What does this sentence mean?
'Cause, I'm not sorry to say antis: I don't really think it means what you've been babbling around for the past 2 days.
Let's recap what Ms. Nancy in Denial Wheeler has been saying since s1 ep 01, shall we?
We all saw what went on between Stancy in s4.
Falling for Steve Harrington was never in Nancy Wheeler's plans.
Even when she was 16, she was never honest about their feelings for each other.
She doesn't deny she feels something, but she never actually speaks about HER feelings to anyone. Instead, she speaks about his: "HE LIKES ME, BUT NOT LIKE THAT".
And yes, their relationship barely existed at this point, but she must have known he was more serious about her than she let it show. Come on, Steve has never been subtle about it.
So, going back to season 4, back when Nancy needed space and maybe time to figure things out...
Steve was there. Much more mature, just as funny, endearingly silly, and hotter. But you see, the moments they shared, the moments she felt warm inside for the last time for a long time... They were not ''like that'' for Nancy. Steve told her they could go out together as friends once J got back from Lenora. He told her he'd have dated Robin. And then he told her about this crazy dream of having six kids. (Nevermind "the MOST IMPORTANT PART", never mind his ''bumbling, oblique confession of... whatever that was.'' Steve has changed. Has grown. He has plans, goals. Not professionaly, but personal life goals.
Unlike her.
"We're just different people."
I suspect Nancy Wheeler knows more than she allows herself to believe.
She knows where she wants to go to college. She knows she wants to investigate and write stories about what she finds out. She knows she doesn't want to be pinned down as this or that. She's known for ages she doesn't want a loveless marriage.
She was hiding, though.
When she was younger, she used to hide herself from everyone who thought they knew her but never accepted her decisions.
And then her world ended for the first time, and she thought it was her fault.
She thought love was bullshit, so why pursuing it, really?
It's sad, but the one who finally realized they had been each other's security blanket, was J.
Nancy has to still make peace with this idea. She has to blurt it out.
Shoot, Nancy. You're so good at it. Take the plunge, Wheeler. I promise it will be just the beginning. Please allow yourself to heal and love.
Believe me, there's someone else patiently waiting for you on the other side.
And no, it's definitely not like that.
It's much, much better than that.
Deep down, I think you already know this.
Just an 'and another thing!' moment here, but...
They love saying Jncy has the ~shared trauma~and all, and J says he felt like he'd never find someone who would understand what he's been through, and that's why he was still clinging onto Nancy.
But to Nancy, that's not the reason why she stayed in this relationship for so long. Her trauma is different. Her best friend died, and she still thinks it's her fault.
And then I remember what Natalia said reacting to the Winnebago scene: "They [STANCY] have also been through so much together." And at this point, with what's coming, with everything that happened, no one else has been with her through what caused her trauma + this whole 'adventure', no one else but Steve.
What Nancy needs to be free of this burden that makes her hold back her feelings is to forgive herself.
I need this to happen more than anything. To watch Nancy forgive herself!
