omg i can’t believe you’re twenty three years old now! it really baffles me how much time has passed since we met. it feels like you’ve been in my life forever and tbh you’ve been here for all of my twenties and you really made them so special for me! idk what i would do without you honestly. you’re like the little sister i always wanted to have and i’m constantly so impressed and inspired and proud of you and this strong woman you’ve become! you’re so intelligent and funny and kind and just the loveliest person i know! i don’t think i could even put into words how amazing and incredible you are but i’m going to do my best because you deserve to hear it!

you’re just the best like i can talk to you about anything and everything and that’s so special to me like we can go from being silly and goofy to talking about something serious within a a few minutes flat and there’s no issue with that. it’s just easy. everything with you is. and that’s the best part of friendship. like yes, sometimes things get tricky and hard but we get through it and everything’s easy again and i love that for us.

and you’re such a talented writer and you come up with the most creative plots and ship ideas and you create the most complex characters to write. you put so much effort and work into all of them and fully flesh them out and write so much for them and they’re all so cohesive and flowy and they feel like real people and that’s literally the hardest thing ever to do. none of them ever feel like ridiculous or off or anything of the sort. they’re like real people and they feel like people and like they’re in my life. like they’re all my pals and i love it so so much and that’s all you and your talent. one day we will write the greatest television show ever and everyone will tune in and make tumblr blogs and twitter stan accounts for your incredibly well thought out and developed characters.

you’re just so inspiring to me every single day and i love you so very much. i really don’t know what i’d do without you in my life. you’re just such a big part of it and i cherish and treasure you every single day. i love you so much and i hope you have the very best birthday and the very best year of your life. you have such big things ahead of you and i can’t wait to see how remarkable you become (though you’re already pretty damn remarkable)

what’s hiding behind her.

He’d made a habit of knowing things. Where Emma liked to get her coffee, what time of day she typically stopped in, whether or not she’d make the trip on a rainy day. He knew she didn’t have a car of her own and that made things exponentially easier. It was easy to follow behind as she walked from her apartment to the studio. He could fall into step behind her, always keeping at least one person between them. If that was impossible, he simply walked the other side of the street. He knew how to be careful, how to blend in and avoid tipping her off that anything was wrong.

But nothing was wrong. He would never hurt her. In fact, he was doing this for her. She was young and naive and needed someone to look after her. He’d known she shouldn’t trust that street artist. He wasn’t good enough for her. What the fuck had she been thinking? Knox Kensley was undeserving of someone like Emma. She was too kind and pure for him. He was dirty and rough and it boiled his blood that the other man had ever touched her.

Simon, of course, had been harmless. He was nothing more than a pest. He’d lasted longer than was expected but that was forgivable. The man had been a billionaire after all. Of course the woman had fallen into his trap. Only a fool wouldn’t be tempted by that money. Emma knew better, though. She’d come to her senses after all of the terribly boring dates the tech mogul had taken her on. Apple picking? What had he been thinking? Had he been that desperate to show off his money that he’d forced her to purchase so much fruit? Emma had made use of it, he knew. He could smell the cinnamon and cooked apples on her for days after. It was both infuriating and arousing.

He just wanted to protect her. There was no harm in that. She deserved to be treasured, to be treated like a queen. No, a goddess. These other men couldn’t provide her with that. None of them could even come close to what he had to offer. Simon might have more money, Knox might have more mystery, and that fuckboy with the guitar--no, he had nothing to offer.

There was only one thing standing in his way.

But it’d be easy to take care of him. And his stupidly large dog.
