Maedhros sketch
(Too many sketches, not enough finished work. Story of my life.)
Maglor the Mighty
yes, yes, yes finally some Sauron/Mairon stuff. I held back some of that stuff because I'm not super happy with the design. I'll probaby have to to a lot more sketches/drawings until I'm happy.
@perlen-gold @artist-owl asked for it, and @i-gwarth asked for it some time ago
I wanted to experiment with rendering, I'll do this more often

Timeline of the First Age – The Silmarillion to the tune of 'We Didn't Start the Fire' by Tim DeMarco (bardofarda)
@an-eldritch-peredhel
#i mean they did also light the fire. that was a pretty significant thing that happened. #like i understand where you’re coming from here but they very much did light the fire.
Elwing's worst nightmare
[Welcome to the soldier side,
Where there's no one here but me]
Imagine being literal Satan and then you hire this little twink to work for you and suddenly you get bossed around in your own fortress and permanently shamed for your utter lack of organization skills
I love how the fandom has given shape to Maedhros. He is sometimes gentle, sometimes feral, he is terrifying but beautiful, he is a war general and a politician, he is an elder brother, stern and kind, in some versions he loves Fingon, he loves Elrond, he regrets his deeds and hates his legacy, in others he longs for his parents' forgiveness, he is Fingolfin's friend or rival, he is witty, he is pensive, he is angry and he is desperate, he is hopeful but not for himself, he is proud and he is self-loathing, he feels crushed by responsibility but he grows into his role.
I love reading about him because the fandom makes him so interesting and complex and relatable.
Sometimes I read a fanfic and I'm awed, wishing that I could write a version of Maedhros that lives up to all of this. There are some incredibly talented writers in this fandom and I'm forever grateful.
Insanest Finwean
Maedhros
Maglor
Celegorm or Curufin
Caranthir
Amrod or Amras
Fingon
Aredhel
Turgon
Argon
Finrod
Angrod or Aegnor
Galadriel
Sanest Finwean
Fingon or Finrod, but I voted Finno.
Ah you see but this is a trick question because no one is sane there is only one braincell and I’m fairly certain it was lost before they made it to Beleriand
Yes, that's true, but who is the LEAST sane out of this batch of idiots?
I voted for C or C (honestly more for the unhinged vibes than anything particular that happened in canon), but genuinely an argument could be made for most people. Curious to see your reasoning for Fingon was as compared to others, though. (I assume Finrod is the werewolf business?)
Fingon literally walked into hell about half a (Valiant) year - about 4 or 5 Sun years - after arriving in Endórë to find his redhead idiot. He also fought a baby dragon.
For Ingo, I honestly wasn't thinking about the werewolf. No, my logic is based around his propensity to find and adopt stray races. Also, his plan to attack Angband was very unhinged.
Wait! Finno walked FIVE YEARS TILL HE GOT TO THANGORODRIM???
I read before that the time btw finno arriving beleriand and the rescue of mae was 5 years, but I genuinely thought that was the time that finno spend thinking if going or not,OMG I FEEL SO BAD NOW.
This is the first time I read that the five years was him literally walking all the way to find his boyfriend cough cough friend.
Sorry for interrup the talk by the way🧍🏽♂️
Don't apologize!
He didn't walk five years! The Nolofinwions settled around Lake Mithrim about Year 2, and he rescued Nelyo Year 5. I think Finno spent those three years in between planning. Sorry for confusing you, my friend.
thanks! Now it makes sence,I was so confuse
🥲🤌
I was like,"wait...5 years walking to reach Thangorodrim, and less than 2 hours ride on Thorondor for coming back to Hitlum 🤨🤌"
Math wasnt working and I was so confuse kskkskjss
No problem at all my friend!
Knowing that there were like, three years of him planning this out, just makes the whole “alone, and without the counsel of any” that much more funny because it heavily implies situations where Finno is just sneaking around and muttering to himself about ration calculations and the rest of the host of Fingolfin and the Fëanorians are just sitting there like:
Oh! This is what @papita474 was talking about! XD
I see it more like this:
Omg this is so accurate and funny jskajsdb
